A/N: Short little oneshot about Percy's thoughts during Son of Neptune. I love Rick Riordan. He's TOTALLY AWESOME :D

Amnesia Is Stupid

By: Twikadevra

The first week was the worst. Not knowing where anything was, knowing that it was even risky to take a trip down to the bathroom for a few minutes. It sucked really, not remembering anything from your past. And that every time you see something ordinary, like a specific shade of red, you know that there's something jiggling in the back of your mind. Like a sudden burst of cold air that hits you after hours in the baking sun. It would be so close to an answer that you could almost taste it. And just when you're about to have a breakthrough – it's gone. Like when the cold breeze stops, and then you're left in the baking sun again.

It drove Percy to the edge.

Night after night he'd spend prodding through his head, losing his sleep. But whenever he tried to remember anything, nothing came. No name, no voice, no face – nothing. It was driving him mad, living without memories? What was he? What was he worth if he didn't even know that his favourite colour was blue? Or that he could talk to horses? Not a pretty story to tell, he can never look at a horse the same way ever again after the first time it talked in his head.

Although, he might not know anything from his past; there was still something.

It was like a feeling. Whenever he looked at a golden colour, this happy shiver runs through him. The same thing happens whenever he sees the colour grey. Of course he had no idea what it meant. He just knew that whatever his brain was trying to remind him of – it was good. If it was good enough to raise a shiver that shocking through him, he wondered incredulously what would happen when (or if) he sees the real thing. He just hoped that it would be soon. He couldn't stand the darkness any longer.

And why, for some reason, does he expect to hear the term Seaweed Brain everywhere?

A/N: Was this good? Horrible? I liked writing this. Something to quench my thirst for the next book! :L I can't freakin' wait! Please review me!
