The doctor stood in front the Tardis controls thinking about the events of the previous day. He and Rose had visited New New York and had succesfully foiled both the cat nun's and Casandra's plans. But two things unsettled him the first thing being the Face of Boe. What was it? What was its great secret? The second thing being when Cassandra/Rose had kissed him. The Doctor had felt a some strange emotions during that moment of psyical contact. Yes, he had known something was up with Rose and yes, he knew that he should'nt really be thinking about it but the memory hung in his mind. He wished it had actually been Rose... Wait why did he wish that? Was he... no thats impossible. He must have just wanted Rose to be back to normal. Yeah, thats it.

The krillitains had been defeated, Sarah Jane had been sent home (It had been fantastic to see Sarah again). And Mickey Smith was aboard the Tardis. The Doctor felt a slight burning sensation in his chest as he watched Rose and Mickey talking on the other side of the control room. Jelousy? No it could'nt be.

The Doctor looked down at the letter from Renette. A sadness weighing on his hearts. He folded it back into his pocket. He shifted uncomfortably as Rose wouldn't meet his eyes and Mickey threw The Doctor an evil glare. Rose slunk down one of the Tardis corridors and Mickey stepped forward to confront the Doctor, "Look what you've done to Rose!" Mickey yelled at him, "She's obviously in love with you and you had to go and snog Madame De Pompadour didn't you?" The Doctor looked apalled, "Rose... is in love? With ME?" Mickey gave him a, your so stupid, look, "Are you completely oblivious?" The Doctor looked like he had been slapped in the face, "But she's YOUR girlfriend!" Mickey shook his head sadly, "She was my girlfriend," he sighed, "And I still love her but..." Mickey gulped, "You two are obviously in love with each other more than Rose and I ever were" The Doctor's face flushed a deep red, "I'm not in love with Rose were just close friends!" Mickey laughed at him and the Doctor's face flushed an even darker shade of red. "And I'm a slitheen," Mickey said sarcastically, "You can't hide the obvious, Doctor!" Mickey called as he walked out of the control room.

Mickey was gone now there was no going back. At least Rose wasn't stuck in another dimension. The Doctor thought back to what Mickey had said earlier, "You two are obviously in love with each other,". He wasn't in love with Rose Tyler... was he? No way it couldn't be could it? Rose was a good friend, she was smart, she was pretty... oh. But that wasn't right timelords don't fall in love with humans it didn't work like that. "You can't hide the obvious!" Mickey's voice scolded him. The Doctor couldn't hide it anymore. He was in love with Rose Tyler. Not like he would ever tell her that.

They stood on Bad Wolf Bay. Rose's blonde hair blowing in the wind. Rose was asking question and the Doctor absentmindly answered. He wanted to reach out and touch her, he wanted to wrap his arms around her and pull Rose into a bear hug. He couldn't though. "I... I love you!" Rose managed to get the words out. The Doctor snapped right out of it after that. "Quite right too," The Doctor smiled. She loved him back. His hearts beat heavily in his chest, "And I suppose since this is my last chance to say it," The Doctor started. This was his chance to tell her how he felt. "Rose Tyler...". Who was he kidding he couldn't do this. The Doctor opened his mouth but no words came out. Then his image dissapeared. Alone in the Tardis he whispered, "I love you".
