My Life Is Changing – Chapter 1
Bella's POV
It's time move on and start fresh. Right now, I'm living in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm 17 years old, and I'm in my senior year. At this moment, my life is pretty hectic. Well, that's a bit of an understatement. My father, Charlie, died when I was seven for overdose, and two years prior my parents divorced. When this happened, my father moved to the small town of Forks, Washington, and started doing drugs. Ever since I was 12, I noticed something was different with my mom, Reneé. She became more distant and then I knew something was wrong. A couple of months later, she started getting abusive. Hitting me when late getting home from school, when I made dinner she didn't like, or if I was with one of my friends on the phone she didn't know. Then one day she said something that freaked me out.
Flashback
I woke up in the morning to the sound of the rain pounding against the glass window. I unwillingly got out of bed, letting my bare feet touch the cold ground.
When I got downstairs, I saw my mom holding Phil, my stepfather's gun. I bit back a gasp.
When my mother and I made eye contact, she held the gun up and said, "Bella it's okay, it's not going to bite, it's smiling at you."
End of Flashback
Rethinking that memory had helped me set my decision. So, I left a note for my mom, and set off for Forks, Washington.
...
When I pulled up to my fathers old house I was got out of my 55' Chevy truck; walked to the door taking a deep breath. I turned the key very slowly and walked inside. As I was searching through the house, I saw pictures on the wall from my childhood when I went to visit.
Looking at these pictures, made my tears start to fall, blurring my vision. The good old days, I thought with a sigh. When it began to become too much, I decided to go for a little walk.
Not even 5 minutes later, I came across a small, torn down cabin. Thinking nobody could possibly live in there, I again, walked up and turned the knob very slowly, and walked inside.
After a few minutes, I noticed a teenage boy, no older than 18, lying on the floor with severe injuries I tried to shake him awake, but no response.
What was I going to do?
