So I'm not sure how I like this yet. It's my first MD fic, but I've done others in Newsies before. So read and I hope you enjoy.
You Can't Hide Beautiful
Chapter One: Changes
Dean Portman wasn't sure exactly what it was that had changed about her, but he knew that he liked it- a lot. He could tell the others had noticed it too, when he looked around at the surprised expressions on his teammates faces. The only one that didn't have a stupefied expression on their face was Connie, and he guessed it was because she had played some part in the change. It wasn't just that she was wearing a tiny dress unlike anything they had ever seen her in before; it was also something about the way she carried herself that had changed.
"Whoa Catlady, looks like the summer was good to you. You're looking fine!" exclaimed Luis, the eternal flirt.
"What? You all act like you've never seen a dress before," Julie said, amused at how her male teammates were acting.
"We've just never seen half a dress before, at least not on you," Russ replied.
"Oh just ignore them Jules, they are just jealous because we look better than they do," Connie replied, laughing at the boys reaction, which was just as she had imagined it to be.
Flashback" I don't know about this dress Connie, its so short," Julie said, standing in front of the three way mirror in the dressing room. The girls were shopping for new dresses for their reunion with the ducks and Coaches Bombay and Orion before the school year started.
"You look hot Jules! That's all that matters. Besides, what good is working out like a maniac to stay in shape if you aren't willing to show off all your hard work," Connie replied, desperately trying to convince Julie to get the dress.
"I don't know Con. I mean, it's just not me. I'm much more of a simple girl, and I don't think black strapless and sparkly is quite my style."
"Stop complaining! The boys are not gonna know what hit them when they see you in this dress."
End Flashback"Can we go now, Orion and Bombay are probably waiting for us," Julie said, desperately trying to change the topic of conversation.
" Yeah, Julies right we better get going," Charlie said, taking over the situation, "My mom, Guy's mom and Goldberg's dad are gonna drive us there."
Charlie, Russ, Ken and Adam climbed into Casey Conway's car; Goldberg Averman, Dwayne, and Luis got into Mr. Goldberg's car; and Guy, Connie, Portman, Fulton, and Julie all climbed into Mrs. Germain's minivan and then they were off to meet their coaches.
So please review and tell me what I can do to make this better. I know this chapter is short but I wanted to get something out.
