Blood-stained apples

JasperPOV.

I'd just come back from Charlie's. Bella had asked me to take her and Reneesme to her father's house, since Edward was out hunting with Carlisle.

Esme had gave us -Alice and me- a pretty little house a few weeks ago, as a present for our married anniversary. We didn't use to spend much time there, though. Well, not unless Rosalie and Emmett were on a fond mood.

I opened the house door, knowing that Alice knew I was there, thanks to her visions. I was hoping her to run to the door and give me a great welcome, after we'd spent almost an hour without each other. But she wasn't anywhere

A weird noise came from the kitchen, and I walked towards it with vampire speed. Alice's back was in front of me, and she was stirring something on the stove.

I frowned as I brought myself near her, and wrapped my arms around her waist for behind.

"What are you doing, little pixie?" I asked, tilting my head over her shoulder, trying to look at the metallic pan's content.

Alice got her head between me and the pan, so I couldn't look into it.

"It's a surprise." Her musical voice answered, as she pulled away my head using hers. "I'm cooking for you."

"Cooking!?" I gasped.

She nodded.

"Pff." I sighed. "I hope I don't have to call the firemen."

She nudged me playfully and I pretended to make a grimace.

I bit her shoulder, following her game, and she chuckled and howled.

"What are you?" She asked between laughs. "A cannibal?"

I laughed. "Nope," Kissed her cheek gently. "A vampire."

"I'm starting to doubt it." She answered, before turning and giving me a sweet kiss on my lips. I looked at her with tenderness, and sighed, enjoying the sensation of having her between my arms, and having the house for just us.

Alice loved being surrounded of people, and we almost never came here. That annoyed me in many ways; I loved to have her just for me, even if we weren't doing anything but looking into each other eyes, or being lay together on the living room's couch.

Alice started to bounce between my arms, and turned around so that we were face to face.

"Close your eyes." She demanded, bouncing between my arms.

I looked at her, confused. "What for?"

"Just do it!" She removed my hands from her waist and placed them on my eyes, turned me around and pushed me softly. I bumped against the table and listened how she was moving behind my back.

"Alice?" I asked cautiously.

"Yup?"

"What are you cooking, if we're vampires and we don't eat food?" I laughed softly at the end.

I could feel her rolling her eyes. "You'll see!" She squeaked cheerfully.

I laughed at her attitude, and felt tiny hands turning me around.

Alice was standing in front of me with a red ball, inserted in a stick; smiling widely.

"What-?" I started, but she didn't let me finish. She put that red ball into my mouth, and made a gesture, indicating me to bite it.

"Mmm," I stuttered when she pulled away from my lips, with my mouth full. "Blood-stained apple."

Alice smiled proudly, and gave it a huge bite herself. "I knew you'd like it."
