A Father Knows
Max Keenan had never claimed to be a saint. Hell he'd be the first to admit that that was exactly what he wasn't. But he did know things about life and more importantly he knew love when he saw it.
From the very moment he saw his little girl with Seeley Booth,he'd known. That man was so protective of Tempe. Then there were all the things the FBI agent had done for Temperance. Getting a tree for the Christmas at the jail that Max,Temperance,Russ,Amy and Russ' two little girls had. It had been such a nice gesture and for a moment, everyone momentarily forgot that they were actually in a police station. There was the time that Booth had lied on the stand in court in order to help Temperance get Max back in her life a free man. Not to mention the many times Booth had saved his daughter---that earned him a great respect in Max's book. Not to mention a while ago when he'd asked the agent if he was sleeping with her. He'd gotten a little flustered and even admitted that she was beautiful.
And his daughter, boy she cared just as much for Booth as he did for her. Max had seen it with his own eyes a couple of years ago when Booth had been kidnapped during a case. He knew for a fact that she had lied to Booth's boss to get the police out there. He'd seen the panic on his daughter's face as they drove quickly torwards where they knew Booth was located. Then there was the time that Booth had gotten shot by taking a bullet for Tempe. Somehow, her friend Angela had gotten Max's number and had immediatly called him. When he'd arrived at the hospital, his daughter was shaking so badly that he thought the only reason she hadn't fallen to the floor was because Angela and Zach were on either side of her. He knew the whole reason Tempe had even asked him to stay and continue working at the Jefforsonian was because of Booth and in turn,Booth's seven year old son Parker. It wasn't that his daughter didn't love him,it was just that him being a teacher where she worked had at first, brought in the painful memories of her parents abandoning her and Russ all them years ago when she was only fifteen.
Seeley Booth was a good, respectable man. And that was exactly what Max wanted for his daughter. Someone loyal, kind, honest, loving and protective over her. He just had to help the two stubborn willed people realise that that was exactly what they wanted.
The End
