Well hello guys! Long time no see! This is a one-shot, my take on fault. it's way overdone, but I haven't written in a while and I want to. I haven't forgotten about my other stories. I will update within the next week or so.

SVU

Gitano is holding the little girl, who is trembling with fear. Olivia spots the 9 millimeter in his hand and sees it pointed to the little girl's head. She takes her glock out of her holster and aims at Gitano, but he does the same.

"Bang, Bang." Elliot hears, the shots echoing mercilessly through the subway station. He runs into the open area to see Gitano sprawled on the ground. He has a bullet through his head; a clean, rounded abyss emanating throughout his skull. Fin is holding the little girl and the boy's hands, wide eyed. Elliot follows Fin's gaze to see Olivia. Olivia.

"Liv! Oh my god, Olivia, no!" There is Detective Olivia Benson, with a hole in her chest, on the cold ground, dying. She is out cold and blood is pooling around her like a piece of ever growing velvet fabric.

Elliot rushes toward her, hands flying immediately to her neck. No pulse. Nothing. Elliot starts the cpr he's been trained to do.

One.

Two.

Breath.

One.

Two.

Breath.

He checks her neck again and feels a faint, threads pulse beneath his fingers. He sighs with relief and puts pressure on the wound, which is in the exact spot where her heart is.

"Where's the damn bus!?" He shouts, tears emerging from the corners of his eyes.

SVU

The waiting room seats are particularly uncomfortable and if he gets up, his legs may buckle, so he decides to play it safe. The squad is there, her only family. She doesn't deserve this, he thought. If only it were me instead; more destructive thoughts spin in his head.

The doctor comes in hours later, eyelids heavy from exhaustion. They all stand, and Cragen is the first to speak.

"How is she, Doctor?"

A sigh, a deep breath.

"Critical, her chances are better if she survives the night. I'm sorry to say this, but you may want to say your good byes now." He says with no sugar coating, for which Elliot is grateful.

SVU

Elliot goes first. It was an unspoken agreement and he walked down the hall to the ICU. Olivia has always been tiny, but now she looks fragile; even against the stark white covers she is even paler. Olivia Benson is strong, not fragile, and this scares Elliot. He sits in the plastic garden chair and takes ahold of her hand.

"I'm so sorry, Liv. It should have been me. I need you to pull through for me. I know it's selfish, but I can't do this without you. I love you..."

Her hand squeezes his, a last reassurance. Then her heart stops, and Elliot falls to his knees in anguish.

"Time of death: 7:19 pm."
