She froze, breathless. Her pale body shook, emerald green eyes wide with shock and betrayal. The wind, uncaring of her emotions, swept through her hair and cooled her hot skin. She stifled a sob as she watched her 'faithful' boyfriend kiss her best friend on the park bench. Just her luck, he looked up and noticed her. His eyes widened and he pulled out of the kiss, jumping up.

Who do you think you are?

He only had time to call out "wait! It's not what it looks like!" before she had spun around and numbly bolted through the streets, heading towards her house. By the time she crashed through her front door, she was gasping and sobbing uncontrollably. She locked the door and stumbled to the bathroom, closing and locking the cool oak door behind her. She slid down the wall and sat there, gasping for breath through her tears. Slowly, she pulled out her hidden razor blade. Without hesitation, she pulled it across the thin skin on her wrist. She didn't feel the pain.

Running 'round leaving scars

Suddenly, she heard a crash. Soon there was pounding on the bathroom door, along with frantic cries of "it wasn't what it looked like". She wondered how they got in. oh yeah, she had given both of them keys. She listened to the cries of her best friend, and how she claimed it was nothing.

Collecting your jar of hearts

Yeah, snogging her boyfriend was definitely nothing. Shaking her head, she glanced down at the razor. She made the decision. It wasn't hard, really. She had nothing else to lose. She quickly dug the razor deep into her skin over and over until she was surrounded by a pool of her own blood. She didn't care, though. She was too weak to care. Faintly, she hear her former best friend and boyfriend screaming. One of them had dialed 911. But they were too late. She knew that. After what seemed like forever, she felt herself going numb.
