Strike Witches
Coral Sea Battle

I know it's a new story but I'm pressed for time on this so this will probably be more like mini-sodes. Anyway my goal with this and the new major WWII battle is to upload "day" chapters on the day/s of the battle.

Oh and before I forget, I own nothing related to Strike Witches, I just wish to claim the OC's as my own.

P.S. Captain Frederick "Ted" Sherman was the real captain of the Lexington.

On May 4th 1942 combined US and Fuso Naval forces arrived at the Coral Sea and began to launch aircraft in search of the rumored Neuroi Hive. After hours of flewing the search planes reported the location of the enemy hive. USS Lexington, Fuso Carriers Shōkaku and Zuikaku along with their guard ships prepared to engage the enemy hive.

May 4th 1942

Dusk, Approx. 7:15 p.m.

Captain Frederick "Ted" Sherman stood on the bridge of his ship the USS Lexington. He was so proud of it. After the Destruction of the USS Arizona on December 7th 1941, the Lady Lex, as she was now called was the pride of the US Fleet. He knew that most crew was preparing for the party for Cinco de Mayo tomorrow. He wanted no part of it. He walked out side and looked over to the sun, which had just dipped below the water.

First Lieutenant Barbra Jamie Jones walked up.

"You need to relax."

"You should be getting ready if your going to go out on patrol soon." Ted said.

"Oh stop it. Your not my father."

"I'm the damn closest thing."

He was right, he had known the 17 year old witch since she was born. After her father had died in WWI he looked after her and her mother until the invasion of the Neuroi. HE was already in the navy and she enlisted after Pearl Harbor.

"Either way Capt., I'm off patrol tonight. I'm actually (yawn) going to bed now sir."

Ted smiled as he watched he walk off. He sighed and returned to his room. He layed down and drifted off to sleep knowing over the next few days, he wasn't not going to get much sleep. For that matter no one was.

Ya, I know its short, but as it is I'm already two days behind schedule. Next chapters really cheesy.
