Harry sat on the faded red couch in a cold dark room, staring into the dying embers in the fireplace. He didn't look up as the door squeaked open. He kept his eyes on the fireplace not acknowledging that there was anyone else in the room.

Draco with a gesture had the fire roaring again and as it crackled merrily bringing light to the room he moved into Harry's line of vision.

"I love you." Draco said, moving his face just inches from the other boy's.

Harry looks away moves quickly from the couch turning his back to Draco and faces the window.

"How could you love me now?" Harry mutters faintly, almost to himself.

Draco moves to the window behind Harry and circles his arm around his waist. Harry doesn't flinch or lean into the embrace. This apathy hurts Draco more than it would if Harry had moved across the room again.

"How could I not love you?" Draco murmured to Harry.

"Oh, I don't know. " Harry said quietly as he turned in Draco's arms to face the blonde boy. "Maybe you should hate me because you saw me kill your father today?"

Draco flinched not at the statement but the cold almost lifeless expression in his lover's usually vibrant green eyes. The mischievous twinkle that made him love him was missing. There was no hint of laughter or love just sadness, despair and a strange lack of focus, they could be the eyes of a blind man.

"You and I both know that man stopped being any type of father to me when I was old enough to start learning about "the cause" besides you were only protecting me and your friends, after he killed Ginny how could you not kill him? Even more than that how could you ever think that I wouldn't love you?" Draco said searching for some sign of his Harry in the lifeless eyes of this stranger.

"He was still your father. I've spent my whole life wishing for mine and now I've taken yours away from you." Harry said pitifully.

"He took his self away from me long before I even knew you." Draco said fiercely moving away from Harry to stare into the fire. He traced his fingertips over the golden picture frame that held a picture that was taken on Harry's 17th Birthday of the two of them staring lovingly into each other's eyes.

After several long silent moments Draco turned to Harry and stared right into those blind eyes.

"I'm sorry my father was a monster that murdered your friend." Draco said.

"Now you're apologizing to me?" Harry said in wonder, as Draco started looking interestedly at the floor.

A look of concern came into Harry's eyes that made Draco's heart leap with hope.

"Don't you still love me?" Draco asked going to Harry wrapping his arms around him and burying his head into his chest.

Harry couldn't believe that this beautiful loving boy could believe for one minute that he wouldn't love him. Couldn't believe that this loving compassionate boy could still love him after what he had done. He wrapped Draco in one arm and used the hand on the other to turn the boy's face up to his.

"More than life itself." Harry said pressing a chaste kiss to Draco's lips.

The chaste kiss quickly turned into a much more passionate one and Harry moved them to the couch were he settled with Draco comfortably nestled in his lap. They broke apart and Draco looked up to discover that Harry's beautiful eyes were twinkling back down at him.

"I love you." Harry said.

The thank Merlin Draco murmured was lost in the butterfly kisses to Harry's neck.
