Title: My Dear Euphrasie
Description:
A super short one-shot about Fantine's thoughts on her grown up daughter. Set in the midst of 'The Epilogue' - 2012 Movie Based.
"Oh my dear Euphrasie how you have grown so beautifully…" Fantine said breathlessly, looking down upon the weeping, beautiful woman that was before her, the golden candlelight of the church bathing her daughter in a heavenly glow.
Her darling daughter was crouched down upon the floor, sobbing hard into her new husband's shoulder. Fantine smiled lightly, she was so happy that her daughter had found a man who was going to love and care for her in the way she deserved, Fantine was never as lucky in that particular area… She shook her head then, making the sad, bitter thoughts leave her mind, Felix had no place in her thoughts now.
Looking back at her daughter, who was reading the letter Monsieur Madeline had left her, tears running down her pale cheeks as her blue eyes followed every word on the parchment. She desperately wanted to reach out and comfort her sobbing daughter then, to hold her and kiss her as if she was still the baby she remembered her as. But her Cosette couldn't see her, and the living and the dead couldn't interact…
Sighing sadly, Fantine turned then, caught the far away silhouette of Monsieur Madeline in the distance. She smiled warmly at the man who had helped her and Cosette so much, had sacrificed so much to care for Cosette and love her so genuinely as if she was his own daughter…
She should probably be leaving now, she couldn't stay too long in a place where her soul no longer resided.
Fantine turned and gazed back at her daughter one last time, observing the pool of white lace and silk that was huddled on the stone floor.
She was beautiful… She was well off… She was loved...And so, Fantine was finally satisfied and happy. Her daughter was finally going to have the life she deserved, everything that she, herself, could have ever hoped for her.
And thus, Fantine was finally content.
