Water Flight
Guess where we were?
Yes, we're in yet another cave that looked out over a sparkling lake. I sat in the entrance watching the night sky while the Flock slept behind me. I turned to check them again and saw my baby, Angel, first. She looked so innocent and peaceful in her sleep. If you hadn't seen her fight, you might actually think she was a normal six year old. Angel, my tough little baby.
And then there was Gazzy, my strong little trooper, curled up in a ball inside his blanket. Gosh, he was so brave, even though he was only eight.
Nudge, ah, Nudge, Little Miss Motor-mouth was lying there, with a smile stretching from ear to ear.
Iggy was lying unusually close to Nudge, hmm; I'll ask them about that in the morning. He can do things even I can't do…
Like cook?
Yes Angel, now go back to sleep.
Ok Max, goodnight.
And Fang, wait he's not there.
"Looking for someone?" Fang whispered, his breath tickling my neck and making me tingle.
"OMYGOD FANG, Don't do that to me!" I whisper shouted.
"Don't do what?" Fang answered in a mocking tone, his head cocked to one side in that cute…
BAD MAX, BAD MAX, BAD BAD BAD MAX!! YOU DON'T LIKE HIM THAT WAY!!
Maximum, you like him as more than a friend and you know it. Oh, great Voice, interrupt a personal, private moment, Go away!
Its Ok if you like him like that Max, he likes you too.
Thanks Angel, but what did I tell you about invading peoples minds and I thought I also told you to go to sleep
Sorry Max
"You know what" I answered, knowing exactly where this was going, like it had done many times before.
"What breathe?" asked Fang sarcastically.
Yep, I knew it.
"Yeah very funny, Fangy" I mocked.
"Whatever, do you wanna fly Maxie" he replied, a playful smirk dancing across his lips.
I stepped lightly over to Iggy and tapped the back of his hand twice and he shot up faster than a heartbeat. Me and Fang ran to the edge of the cliff and jumped off. I felt the wind in my face as I was freefalling. I snapped my wings out at the last second and I enjoyed the feel of the wind through my feathers. We flew over the trees at the end of the lake. We hovered over the lake facing each other, when he disappeared.
"Fang," I called nervously "where are you?"
I felt a tap on my shoulder and whirled around. I caught Fangs arm and he tried to flap away. A plan started to form as a mischievous smile played on my face. Fang saw this, started to frown and tried to backpedal and pull away from me.
I used my super-speed to fly down to the lake, simultaneously turning upwards and dropping Fang.
I heard a huge splash as Fang hit the water and I chuckled overhead as Fang surfaced, looking murderous. He swam to the surface and turned invisible as I flew above him.
"Fan..." I started but something pulled me out of the air and I stared to struggle. Then I realised that nothing, or at least nothing visible, was holding me. And I laughed. It was Fang trying to get me back. He twisted me around in his arms and turned visible with a Cheshire cat grin plastered on his face. He flew up and dropped me above the lake. I snapped my wings out at the last possible second and glided along the surface of the water, my wings brushing the water on the down stroke.
Fang motioned me closer to him and when I got there he grabbed me. He held me bridal style and carried me that way back to camp.
