It was a rare, but wonderful occurrence for Sasuke Uchiha to be home. He enjoyed these little visits to Konohagakure, because it gave him a chance to spend time with his wife and daughter. What he didn't like, however; was getting stuck with paperwork on his time off. If he wasn't out guarding the village, he was in it doing paperwork for the Hokage. He had calmly let Sakura and Sarada know not to bother him while he was busy, unless it was important. Although on this particular morning, Sasuke was desperately awaiting an interruption. He had been locked in his home office for days, and he just couldn't stay focused anymore. The last thing he wanted was to be working. He just wanted to spend time with Sarada. He sighed and resumed filling out reports and forms that Naruto himself was too lazy to do.
The door to his office slowly opened, and closed again a moment later. Sarada was standing there with her arms at her sides, smiling shyly at Sasuke's back. "Hey papa?"
Sasuke was surprised; he hadn't even heard her come in. He turned in his chair and smiled softly. "Hm?"
Sarada smiled at the happy response she got, and it boosted her confidence. She walked towards Sasuke, and moved to stand at his right. She leaned up and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. "Happy birthday!"
This surprised the Uchiha man. His eyes went wide and he could feel his face heat up in embarrassment. He stared at his daughter in disbelief. "T-Thank you…"
She giggled softly and smiled. "You're welcome, papa."
