The Vampire Diaries
Chapter 1
"Elena, come down. I need to talk to you, it's important." Jeremy yelled
"Coming, Jer. Hold on for a minute" Elena said back
"Stefan and Damon were here and they brought a dead body. It's in the living room floor. They said that the police say it was an animal attack. We know better, there is another vampire in town and is blaming animals and more importantly Stefan and Damon for their dirty work." Jeremy explained
"Since when did you start worrying about Stefan and Damon? Wait... Did you say another vampire?! No we can't have that. If they find out about me, then we both are in danger." Elena said worriedly
"Um…. Ok. Stefan wanted me to give this to you." Jeremy said holding out a piece of paper
"Thanks."
It said:
Dear Elena,
I am so sorry I have to do this on paper but I have some important stuff I have to tell you. Damon and I will be leaving Mystic Falls for 1 and a half months. We have some things to take care of in Chicago, New Orleans and Rosewood. We are leaving in 2 days so I wanted to tell you know for any good-byes. I will miss you deeply and miss Mystic Falls. Hey its Damon, I just wanted to tell you that I will miss you as well. Tell Bonnie I say I'm SORRY! Bye. Sorry for my brother's words on my letter. Hope you have a safe month without us, and be careful on who you invite inside the house! I will see you soon!

While Elena read the letter she was laughing and in tears. She knew that she will miss them a lot and hoped for a safe return.
"Elena, are you OK?" Jeremy asked
"Yea. I'm fine." Elena says wiping the tears
"We better get ready for school" Jeremy says getting his books
"OK. I have to go meet Caroline and Bonnie so I'll see you back home. Lock the house" Elena says heading out.
"House lock duty on me. AGAIN! It's only Elena not someone else. Help a family member, right?!" Jeremy says.
At School…
"ELENA! How are you? How is Jeremy?" Amy and Sarah asked
"We're fine. Thanks for asking…. I think" Elena said
"Leave her alone. She is missing her boyfriend right now. Give her a break" Caroline said
"Caroline! Hey. How are you? How was summer?" Elena asked
"Elena I'm fine; how are you? Stefan told me they were leaving. I am so sorry"
"It's ok, Care. I miss them but before you know it, they'll be back! Look on the bright side, I can spend more time with you and Bonnie!" Elena says
"Yea good point Elena. So girl party-my house tonight" Caroline suggests
"Ok, it could keep my mind off a few things." Elena says in agreement
"Hey! Sorry to run down on your conversation. Stefan wanted me to give you this" Tyler says
"Tyler! I've missed you. How are you?" Caroline says
"I'm fine Care. Love you! Got to go. Bye guys" Tyler says
"Bye Tyler" all the girls say
"Hey, what did Stefan give you this time?"
"He gave me my necklace back" Elena states happily but also sadly.
