"What day is it?"

Kouichi listened to Naoya as he speaks. He admitted it's a bit weird when Naoya asks something like that to him. He glanced at the calendar.

"Thursday, fourteen."

That boy didn't care. But Naoya widely grinned. Kouichi raised an eyebrow when he saw Naoya's expression. Weird.

Naoya said, "What? Don't tell me you didn't know!" He hissed and shook his head.

"What month is it?" Kouichi asked Naoya back.

The boy laughed. "April," he answered.

Kouichi rolled his eyes. "Yeah, it's not valentine, obviously."

"It is not."

Naoya rolled his eyes again and explained. "It's Black Day, Kouichi!"

He said that as if that statement is something everybody should know about.

"Hee…" Kouichi commented. He didn't care, for God's sake! "What is that? It's obviously not white day. Or you just made up that name out of nowhere? Weird."

Teshigawara Naoya pouted. "Black day is a day where all single people eat black noodles and cheer up! How about if we go to a café, hm Kouichi? What do you think?"

"Haaaah?" Kouichi didn't understand. His attention were not at Naoya's black day thing.

"Just go!" Naoya explained. Then he suddenly danced around alone. Kouichi put his mobile down.

"Are you angry or something?"

"Why?"

"You didn't give Braide Aria-san chocolate one month ago."

Naoya could feel his face flushed.

"T-That's…"

Kouichi continued his sentence without mercy, "But she gave you chocolate on Valentine's Day. You're stupid, aren't you? "

"What-Whatever. I'll wait okay?"

Kouichi didn't answer. Naoya came outside without any words.

April 14

They were all there. Kouichi didn't expect people like Kenzo Kawahori, Kyoku Kaneki and—the most important of them all—Izumi Akazawa would be there. This is super weird!

Why the heck this girl came here?

Why Mei isn't here?

"—Searching for Mei?" Naoya smiled. "She has a boyfriend already. Didn't you know?"

"W-With?" Kouichi asked unsurely.

Naoya answered, "Tomohiko Kazami."

WHAT!?

Kouichi didn't respond. He stared at the cake that was served right in front of him.

That Black day was boring.

They were telling each other why they're single. Izumi didn't answer of course. Kouichi as well. They're so similar in many ways. Kenzo Kawahori had to go, so the only one left were Kyoku, Izumi, Naoya and Kouichi. Unfortunately Kyoku had to go as well. And Naoya—he felt awkward, so he went to the bathroom.

"Akazawa-san, why are you here?"

Izumi didn't anser.

"Kouichi-kun—can I call you that?" She added. "Do you like chocolate?"

"Chocolate? I thought people eat black noodles on Black Day?" Kouichi bit his lower lips.

Izumi smiled. "But isn't the same? It's a food."

Kouichi smiled plainly. "Yeah, sure."

The girl grabbed something from her bag. A wrapped chocolate. "For you," she said shyly.

Kouichi thanked her. He ate it slowly. "This chocolate.. the flavour… it faded?"

Izumi could feel her cheek was burning. "Erm… I made it two months ago for my brother… urm.. but I decided to give it to you instead."

Kouichi laughed. "Thank you, Izumi." He smiled again. "This chocolate really cheered me up. Thank you for the chocolate!"
