The young man waited for the school bell to ring, longing to catch a glimpse at his main object of desire just once as they pass each other in the halls.
The bell rings.
The young man rises from his seat, heading out the door as he wishes his teacher a great day. As he turns the corner, he sees her. The girl he loves, conversing with a few friends across the hall.
"If only she were mine..."
He continues along the day normally, saying Hi and Bye to his friends as he passes them in the hallway to the next class. He stops before walking right into "her", not paying any minute attention to what was going on around him, her smiling face being the only thing that fills the caverns of his thoughts at this moment.
''If only she were mine..."
He paused for moments after this, wishing to say the words he desires to say to her, but failing to find the courage in fear of a sudden rejection. He takes a deep breath, apologizes for nearly running her over in the halls, and walks along, too nervous to stand and talk to the girl he likes.
"If only she were mine..."
His day progresses normally until that one class that he has where he sits next to the girl he likes. His nervous look apparent to all around him, he begins to feel foolish for staying where he was, but he figured the foolish feeling was worth it for the object of his love. This could, in fact, be his one chance to get the words he would like to say out. He gave her one look, his eyes lighting up, and said it in one quick burst:
"Would you be my girlfriend?"
The girl, at first, gave a quizzical look, but then, she gave her answer, as suddenly as the rain began to pour outside. After the answer she gave, the boy can now say, with pride, "At last, she is mine..."

A/N: Alright! My first romantic style of fanfic. I hope you enjoyed what little of a one shot it was. It was meant to be a test/practice one shot for my romance writing. Leave reviews, comments, and questions. Constructive criticism would be great as well.
PS: Do not worry. I have not forgotten the posting of God's Fist. Right now, I'm experimenting with fic writing. On Christmas, at least Chapter 1 of God's Fist will be posted.
