A/N: Random uploading time is random~ Heehee.

So this story is about Red, and his first attempt up Mt. Silver. FYI, it's manga-Red, not game-Red.

Anywhoozles, onto the story!

DISCLAIMER: No, I don't own Pokemon.

I stood at the base of the mountain path, my spiky black bangs slightly blowing in the breeze. The fog was heavily setting in, looming over me and blurring my view in front of me. I straightened my cap. I wasn't about to let a little thing like fog stop me.

Pika hopped onto my left shoulder. He gave me a determined look and the spots on his cheeks sparked. I ruffled his bright yellow fur, hopped on my bike and started pedaling.

...

I rode on for a while, with Pika sitting on top of my head this time. Near the end of the path, it sloped up, forming a mini hill. After huffing and puffing my way up, I realized there was a field. Mount Silver loomed overhead, challenging all who dared climb it, including me. All around the perimeter of the field, there were huge stone obelisks, crooked and rough, forming a sort of circle. They were covered in green moss, so I could tell they were here for a while, but I still had suspicions.

Okay, this is definitely not normal. It's not like these were just here in the first place. I dismounted my bike and wheeled it into the middle of the circle of rocks.

Pika hopped off of my head and landed on the ground next to my feet. He seemed to be tense, as he stood on his four paws, in a battle ready stance. I gazed around, trying to find the path again, when all of a sudden I heard a rustling.

Stiffening, I swiveled around towards the direction of the sound. The bushes were shaking unnaturally. It's like the tall grass when there's a wild Pokemon mucking about. Suddenly, an old man who somehow reminded me of Blaine walked out from behind the stone pillar closest to the bushes.

"Hello, youngster. Are you attempting to climb Mt. Silver?" he rasped in a quiet tone.

"Uh, yeah... is there a reason you're here, sir?" I cautiously asked him, still suspicious. He gave a soft chuckle.

"I remember when I was young and determined like you are now. I, too, once tried to summit Mt. Silver. However, I failed miserably and almost died. Now, I have made this field my home. You are the first person in a long time to venture this far." he bent his head in sorrow of his painful memories.

I suddenly felt awkward. "Uhh... I'm sorry, sir... if I'm troubling you, I can just leave... I have a long journey anyway," I stammered, which combated with my usual strong personality, and tried to skitter away.

"Ah, yes, I understand. But before you leave, I can offer you advice to aid your journey."

I paused. Advice? As compassionate as this old man seemed, there was also something about him that made me think twice.

"Uh, I appreciate your offer, sir, but I'm kinda in a hurry, so I can't take any distractions," I tried to politely decline his offer, but my inner voice was screaming 'RUN!'

"Ah, I understand. Well, I'm not one to stand in your way. I'm sorry if I slowed you down in any way," he said gracefully, stepping to the side. I raised my eyebrow, and motioned to Pika to leave. Still weirded out, I pedaled out of the field back onto the path.

...

The "old man" watched the boy ride away with a smile. Suddenly, "his" face began to melt off, forming the shape of a Ditto.

Blue grinned as she removed her Ditto from her face. "Whew... that was fun. But I may have just scarred Red for life, eh, Ditty?"

A/N: Yes, it was Blue. Heehee.
