"Alright, Lily. Your first year! Go ahead and show the school what you're made of." Mum said as she wiped a tear from her eye. I rolled my eyes. I was, in truth, nervous. Albus was phenomenal in school. Many of the professors wrote Mum and Dad to say how amazing he was, blah blah. James was furious! He left dungbombs he got from Uncle George's shop in his covers. Okay, maybe I did one too. Anyway, it was hilarious!

I climbed up on board. Dad got some time off of work. i gave him a hug, and he promised me he would write. I smiled and climbed aboard with my cousin Hugo.

We found a sort-of-empty compartment. The only person in it was Stella Scamander, my parents' friend's daughter. "Hi Stella." Hugo said. I harrumphed and looked in the corner.

"Oh, hello Hugo. Hi, Lily. You can sit in this compartment, but don't sit near the window: Wrackspurts like to gather near mouse droppings." she said in her soft voice. I rolled my eyes but didn't sit there: she was right, there were rat droppings. I pulled out my game of Exploding Snap.

"Hugo, do you want to play?" I said.

"Yeah." Hugo replied with a wary glance at Stella. I looked over. She was reading her book upside down. I looked at it. It was a textbook. I looked over at my cousin with bewilderment.

"Wow, you must have inherited some Weasley genes." Hugo said with a smile. I smiled dryly and we played.

In a couple of hours, the snack trolley came by. I ordered some Cauldron Cakes and a few Chocolate Frogs. "And you, young man?" the trolley lady croaked. Hugo pointed at his chest as if to say Me?.

"I'll take... four chocolate frogs, two Cauldron Cakes, two things of Bernie Bott's Every Flavored Beans, and three Sugar Wands." I raised my eyebrows.

"That'll be a Galleon three Sickles for the lady, and four Galleons for the gentleman." We handed our money over. "And young 'uns- you might want to change into your robes. I looked outside at the rolling hills and heather fields.

Almost immediately after we changed, the train pulled into the station at Hogwarts. I heard someone's voice calling the First Years. "Firs' years, over here!" I saw a lantern swinging. I looked up. Hagrid! It was Hagrid!

"Hagrid!" I called with my hands cupped around my mouth. Hagrid looked down.

"Lily!" he boomed. "Where's- Hugo! There you are! It's good to see you two!" he shouted. "Follow me, firs' years!" A crowd of smaller kids surged forward. Hagrid walked towards a small dock, with lots of boats floating in the water. Hagrid got in the largest one and motioned for the rest of us to follow suit.

Everyone did except for a small girl, who stood shaking on the dock. "Come on! We have to go to school, don't we?" I said. The girl shook her head. "Oh, come on. What's your name?"

"Avalon." the girl peeped. "And I'm scared of the water!" she said.

"Oh, it's okay. Come on, be in my boat with my cousin Hugo!" I said. She walked over, very slowly, and stopped at the edge of my boat. I stepped in and helped her in. She grabbed onto the side of the boat and hung on very tightly. Hugo also looked a bit green.
