So, I got this story idea from a fan video I saw on Instagram where Bellamy and Clarke were daydreaming about a whole other life for themselves. I forget the user, so sorry! If it was your video, please tell me so I can give credit!

Without further ado, enjoy!

Prologue

They had done it. They had saved their people from Mount Weather. It had been the hardest thing Bellamy Blake had ever done in his life. The dark skinned man glanced over at his partner in crime, Clarke Griffin. Though he had volunteered to help her pull the lever that killed the 350 plus people in Mount Weather, he knew that Clarke felt as if she was the only one who had done it. He could see it in her eyes - they were like hollow shells.

All of the members of Skaikru had been saved. Though many had been hurt by the Mount Weather psychotics, they had all been saved (no thanks to the good-for-nothing Grounders that his sister adored so much). They were all journeying back home now, a good day's walk. They would be travelling all night, and probably a bit into the day. It would be around ten o'clock when they would make it back to Camp Jaha.

All that could be heard were the footsteps of the former Ark inhabitants. There were not many talking - the recent events had taken a toll on the souls of everyone. If anyone was talking, it was in hushed whispers.

"Bellamy?" Clarke whispered, her cracked voice breaking the silence. Bellamy's spine tingled - it was the first word she'd said since pulling the lever.

"Yeah Princess?" he asked, using her heavily-resented nickname in spite of the horrors they had just gone through to save their people.

Clarke's eyes drifted upward to the empty sky, as if searching for a way home. Wherever home really was anymore. "What if there had never been a flaw?" She asked suddenly.

Bellamy was a little taken aback at this question. "If there had never been a flaw?" He asked her, confused. It took him a moment, but he finally realised to what it was she was referring to. His own eyes gazed up at the sky, landing on the empty spot where the Ark had once shined like a beacon.

"You mean the Ark." It was a statement, not a question.

The blonde nodded, wrapping her arms around herself as a breeze blew through them. "Do you think...do you think we would matter as much as we do now? Would we even know each other? Would we...would our lives be better if we didn't know what we do now?" Clarke looked over at him, resolving him to do the same.

Bellamy's eyebrows furrowed together at her questions. "You know what I think, Princess?" Clarke shook her head. "I think you think too much."

Clarke looked as if she wanted to smack him, which she would have on any other given day, but she didn't. It was not hard to guess why.

"I'm being serious, Bellamy. What do you think our lives would be like now?"

Bellamy shook his head. "Honestly Clarke, I've never really thought about it." This was a lie, of course. Of course he had thought about it. Everyone had, or at least he figured everyone had.

"I don't believe that for a second," she said softly, reading right through him, like she always did.

"Fine. Maybe you're right. Maybe I have thought about it. So what?"

"So...what do you think our lives would be like?" She asked again.

Bellamy cleared his throat, looking back up at the sky. "What would our lives be like. You know, in another life…"
