Lucy was always fascinated by thunderstorms. As a child, she thought that it was the wrath of the the celestial spirits as they got angry for something happening. Of course, she was given the truth about thunderstorms after a certain point of time, but it was still fun to imagine it was their wrath.
Lucy reached her home as thunder boomed and soon following, a bright flash of lightning. Rain slowly began to poor harder as Lucy watched the lightning flash in the clouds, bringing a childish smile as she stared in wonder at the flashes of lightning. Though, her enjoyment ended when there was a knock at her door. Lucy thought of all the possibilities of who could be outside her door. It wouldn't be Natsu or Happy, Gray or Erza, and no other member that would visit her. She opened the door, staring at the one person that practically didn't believe in entering through doors: Natsu Dragneel and his exceed, Happy. She blinked again to make sure that she wasn't seeing things. He gave her a curious look. "Are you going to let me in?" Natsu asked.
"Not entering through windows anymore?" Lucy asked.
"Didn't want to get your bed wet," Natsu gave her a wide smile.
"Aye!" Happy gave his agreement.
Lucy sighed and let the two in before closing the door and returning to the window to enjoy the thunderstorm. Natsu watched from her couch as she watched the thunderstorm, curiously. "Enjoy thunderstorms Lucy?" Natsu finally asked.
Natsu saw her head nod to his question. "What's so interesting about them? It's only lightning and thunder," Natsu continued questioning.
"I always thought, when I was little, that it was the celestial spirits angry," Lucy gave him an answer.
Natsu blinked in surprise to the answer. It was quite similar to what he thought it was when he was a kid. "Is that so?" Natsu sighed.
"What did you think it was?" Lucy asked.
"I always thought the same way except it was dragons, not spirits," Natsu told her.
"Interesting," Lucy said.
"Would Laxus be able to eat the lightning?" Happy asked.
"Of course he would! He's the lightning dragon slayer after all," Natsu answered cheerfully.
"Wouldn't you be able to eat it too, Natsu?" Lucy asked, eyes still glued to the window.
"What do you mean?" Natsu asked.
"Well, you did eat Laxus' lightning and your still able to use it. So wouldn't that mean that you could eat the lightning outside right now if you wanted to?" Lucy explained.
"Hmmm... We could go try it!" Natsu stood up.
"I didn't mean we could go test it right now! I was just wondering if it could be possible," Lucy told him, making him sit back down.
"Natsu should be able to if he could eat Laxus' lightning," Happy gave an answer.
After that, they went silent. Though, Lucy broke the silence saying, "Maybe its the dragons and the celestial spirits battling eachother."
"What?" Natsu asked.
"Well, the dragons could be the thunder because of their roarand the lightning could be the celestial spirits and maybe their fighting," Lucy explained her logic.
"Which would man that the two don't get along with eachother," Happy added.
"Maybe," Natsu mumbled.
...And so, whenever there's a thunderstorm, they thought that the dragons and celestial spirits were in the midst of battle.

So, as I sat at my desk yesterday, typing away with the next chapter of 'When The Flame Turns Black: Resurrection', a thunderstorm started and gave me a huge idea! So, I wrote it up and this is it!
