Caitlyn Gellar sat there, silently and secretly spying on her friend from behind a tree. Mitchie was out on the lake with the one and only, Shane Gray. He was famed for being a flirt, dating anyone and everyone, and she didn't want anything to happen to her friend.

She shivered from the bitterly cold winds that blew from who knows where. Her favourite white hoodie with colourful monkeys printed on in various colors did not warm her. She watched as Shane carefully removed his grey jacket, cashmere probably, and placed it around Mitchie's shoulders. At least he's a gentleman, she thought to herself. She stood up, making up her mind that maybe, just maybe, Shane wasn't that bad at all.

A faint rustle from a nearby bush caught her attention. Cautiously, she took a tentative step towards the somehow moving bush. She carefully pulled the branches away and jumped away in shock. A boy with a mass of curly hair stood up from where he was crouching, obviously hiding from something or someone. He looked vaguely familiar, with dark eyes and dimples as he smiled sheepishly.

Wow! He's totally hot! Ran through Caitlyn's mind as she stared at the familiar face. OH MY GOSH!! He's NATE GRAY!!

She's pretty cute! Was what went through Nate's.

"Sorry… Didn't mean to frighten you," he said quietly.

"No probs. Just let me restart my heart," she jokingly replied with a grin. He laughed.

"I'm Nate. You're Caitlyn, right?"

"Ahhh… The younger Gray sibling. And yes, I'm Caitlyn. What the heck were you doing in there?" she asked while trying to help him remove the twigs and leaves that were stuck in his hair. Well, he didn't look like an obnoxious pop star, and he sure wasn't acting like one.

"I was uhhh… running from fan girls?"

"Nice try. You were spying on Shane and Mitchie, weren't you?" she asked, casually tossing a lock of her russet hair.

Nate threw his head back and laughed before responding, "Guilty as charged. But you were too!" She childishly stuck her tongue out at him. "And what if I was?"

"Well, Shane isn't such a bad guy you know. He's actually pretty nice most of the time. I was actually more worried that Mitchie might be one of those obsessed fan girls who would do anything to meet the Shane Gray."

"Mitchie?? An obsessed fan girl? I don't think so. She's pretty chill."

"Yeah, I can see that," he remarked, running his hands through his curly dark locks

"Do you always hide in bushes?" she pointedly asked.

"Nope. Only when I'm running from crazed fans or when I'm spying on people. Do you always hide behind trees?"

"How did you know I was there?"

"I may be a pop star, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid. I could see you, you know."

"Oh…" she looked down in embarrassment at being caught spying and her cheeks flushed a rather becoming shade of pink.

"You're cute when you're embarrassed you know." He grinned at her, which made Caitlyn blush even more.

"So I'm only cute when I'm embarrassed?" she teased.

"Yes! I mean, no! I mean…. You always look cute, but you're… cuter when you blush," he shyly answered, flustered and hesitant.

She tried to hide her smile that was creeping up. Hey, Nate Gray thought she was cute okay? She looked over to the lake and saw Shane and Mitchie were sharing a lingering kiss.

Caitlyn turned to Nate and found his face just inches away from hers.

"I hope you won't mind me kissing you," he whispered, leaning in.

"I hope you won't mind if I kiss you back," she teased him back, before their lips met and all thoughts ceased to exist.

I do apologize for this rather sucky one-shot. It's my first! So do forgive me. Thanks! =)
