AN: I've been thinking about writing Leon/Cloud for a while, and couldn't come up with any ideas. Then this little fic popped into my head. Prompt number twelve - "antisocial".
Leon wasn't difficult to find, really, decided Cloud. He spent most of his time at Hollow Bastion's bailey, mainly because no-one else ever went there. He liked the solitude. Cloud understood why – he liked it, too. Yuffie had described them, in one of her raging fits, as antisocial, but it would be more accurate to say they just didn't like crowds.
Yes, as he'd expected, Leon was there, his back to the entrance, watching the sun setting. Cloud sat down on the low wall, close to where Leon was standing. He wasn't looking at the sunset though, he was watching Leon, admiring the way he looked in the deep red glow.
"I guess I should apologise."
It wasn't like Leon to initiate conversation, so he must really be feeling guilty. Not that Cloud could understand why, since he didn't have the slightest problem with what had happened.
"There's no need to do that, Leon."
Finally, Leon dragged his gaze away from the view, fixing his eyes on Cloud instead. "I was drunk and there was no excuse for what I did."
"We both know Yuffie spiked everyone's drinks last night. Besides, it's not like I couldn't have stopped you."
……………………
The party was in full swing, and everybody, except for the two swordsmen, was dancing. They were sitting down, out of the way, watching and drinking some colourful concoction that had been offered to them. Neither was entirely certain of the contents, but it tasted good, so they weren't too bothered.
"Cloud?"
"Hmm?"
"Did I ever tell you how completely sexy you look?"
"No." Cloud rested his head on Leon's shoulder. "Tell me."
"You do."
When their lips met, it wasn't like a normal first kiss – tentative and soft. No, this was hard and passionate, the sort of kiss that leads to bedroom action more often than not. This would probably have been the case, if Aerith hadn't interrupted, causing Leon to leap back as if he'd been burned, and run away.
……………………
"If you wanted to try it again, sober, without any interruptions…" Cloud took hold of one of Leon's many belts, pulling him so that he stood just in front of the blond, almost touching but not quite. "…I wouldn't object."
"Are you sure about that, Cloud?"
"Absolutely."
There was a small space between their faces now, and neither of them wanted to be the first to move and close the gap, just in case they were making a huge mistake.
"Oh, this is stupid," muttered Cloud, as he slid one hand into Leon's dark hair and pulled him into a kiss. Without the alcohol to loosen their inhibitions, this one was gentler, more uncertain, to begin with. That, however, didn't last long, as the attraction they'd felt the previous night made itself known again.
"You're not going to run this time?" As if to prevent any such attempts, one of Cloud's arms was wrapped firmly around Leon's waist, while the other hand played with his hair.
"I'm not running."
"I guess we owe Yuffie a thank you for whatever she put in those drinks. Otherwise you'd never have done that last night."
"Until just now, I wished I hadn't done it."
Arms around each other, they strolled back to the house.
