I'll Love You Forever

Lily Potter sat in the nursery of a cottage in Godric's Hollow, rocking her one year old son Harry to sleep.
It had been a very long and amusing, at least for Harry, day.

/Flashback/
Her husband James along with his friends, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, had fed Harry 2 boxes of Chocolate Frogs and over half of his birthday cake, with the excuse that, as it was his birthday, Harry should be allowed to eat as much chocolate as he liked.
The result was an extremely hyper one year old on a sugar high.
It had taken six hours to calm Harry down, during which time he had smashed three vases, knocked five family photos off the walls, scared the cat so badly that it hid under the living room couch, broke seven dishes, and completely destroyed the kitchen, all while zooming around the house on the toy broom that Sirius had given him.

And then, as if that weren't enough, Harry, along with Fred, George, Ron, and Neville, had gotten into Lily's makeup kit after James, Lily, Arthur, Molly, Frank, and Alice had fainted from the the shock of the house's condition, and proceeded to smear ruby colored lipstick on their eyebrows, mascara on their noses, and glittery gold nail polish around their mouths before magically transfiguring James, Arthur, and Frank's clothes into black wedding gowns, complete with veils, and the words "I love Snivellus Snake" flashing in green and silver. Lily, Molly, and Alice's clothes were transformed into red, white and blue tuxedos,. complete with firecracker hats, and the words "Here comes the groom, red, white, and blue" flashing in gold.

Harry had then grabbed a pair of sissors and cut Lily, Molly, and Alice's hair so short that they looked like men and magically lengthened James, Arthur, and Frank's hair and styled it into sausage curls.
Needless to say, Remus and Sirius were both highly amused and took several photos for blackmail material while bragging about how Harry, Ron, Fred, George, and Neville were going to be the next Marauders.
/End Flashback/

Now that Harry was finally calmed down, Lily was putting him to bed.
She sat in a rocking chair in the nursery, holding Harry while she sang.

"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as we're living,
My baby you'll be."

As the song ended, she looked down at Harry, who lay in her arms sleeping.
Lily stood carefully, trying not to wake him, and walked over to Harry's crib.
It was light blue, with small puffy white clouds and a Quidditch pitch, complete with Quaffle, Bludgers, and Golden Snitch, painted on the side.
The players wore the uniforms of the Gryffindor and Slytherin Quidditch teams.
There was even a little Golden Snitch mobile hanging from the headboard that played 'Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts'.
She placed Harry in the crib, tucked him in, and then kissed him on his forehead before turning out the light and leaving the room.
