"What the hell is this?" Crono yells, as a huge monster crashes through the double doors of Guardia Castle. It appears to be part beetle, and part lion. The face and its six legs are covered by lion hair, and look like lion feet. The rest of the gargantua is beetle body. Protruding from its mouth are two huge mandibles.
Good thing Marle's gone visiting Lucca, Crono thinks, drawing the Rainbow. "Oh well. Come on you bastard, let's rumble." The beast roars deafeningly, and charges Crono, knocking all the soldiers out of the way, as a broom does dirt on the floor. It pivots, showing a tail much like a whip. The tail connects with Crono, sending him into the throne. It turns back around, and rises into the air. As it descends, Crono throws up his arms, and yells, "Luminare!" As the dome expands, the beast crashes into it, momentarily stopping its fall. However, the beast raises a paw, and brings it down on the dome with incredible force, shattering it.
"That's great," Crono mutters, "just frigging great." He leaps off the dais, and rolls to his feet. He twists a little at the waist, and jumps into the air. "Cyclone!" Crono spins around the beast, scoring several hits. As he lands, however, the monster doesn't attack him. He stands there warily, eyeing the monster.
"Yes..." a voice comes from the air above the monster's head. Then, the air ripples, and a man appears, floating above the monster. "Very good Crono. I would expect nothing less from one who helped destroy a Lavoid."
