~~For Brandon, Clayton, Emily, and Logan.
This is for you~
"Gordo I don't want you to go" her cheeks were red and tears were streaming down her face; my heart was filled with pity for her. It pained me to see her like this
"Why?" I asked not knowing what else to say
She sniffed and wiped her tears away with her hands "Because......I love you"
~ These words till rang in my mind as I sat in the car. My memory of Lizzie slowly faded the further we drove from home. ~
My heart sank.
"What did you say?" I asked catching my breath
"Why do you have to go! Why did I wait until now! I love you Gordo and you'll never understand you'll never know because of me, I thought you'd be here forever" she sighed "I'm sorry"
I was confused and overjoyed but, why now? Why when I had to go? "Lizzie, I..."
"Don't say anything Gordo. You're probably just wanting to get out of here now, right? I'm sorry, I...I....you're my best friend I can't just forget about you, you can't just leave me now! I love you Gordo, I have loved you. But I never thought you would go, I never thought it could all end, I thought you'd be with me forever and I'd have a million chances to tell you how I feel, but you're leaving.
And now we'll never know, I'll never know"
~ I watched the trees outside the widow of the car.
So simple and not complicated with feeling and emotion.
It never occurred to me that Lizzie had felt like this. By now she was miles and miles away from me. 'Still wondering' I thought 'Still crying' ~
"Lizzie don't cry please don't cry" I put my arms around her in an embrace.
The moment seemed to last forever.
She cried on my shoulder,
gripping my back,
and I just held her
running my hands through her hair
whispering to her words of comfort
until she let go.
"Well, Gordo I'll see you" she wiped away a tear and smiled at me
Somehow I couldn't return the smile "You'll be able to visit"
"I'll write"
"And email"
"Yeah," she sighed, "Gordo?"
"What?"
She gently put her hand to my cheek and kissed my lips. It was short and chaste but the emotion and love put into it was unbelievable.
~ I sat wondering about her and what she had said 'it's to late...we'll never know, I'll never know......I love you'
She had told me how she felt and I,
I gave my world to her every moment I spent with her she was and will always be my everything and I,
I did nothing ~
"I better go, goodbye Lizzie" I hugged her again and kissed her lips
"Gordo! Don't go!" She cried as I walked away "Don't go! I love you" she turned away running
~"I love you too Lizzie" I whispered to myself in riding in the car and I smiled thinking of her "You will always know"~
THE END
~(tear) So sad...so short, but review anyway. The story leaving you wondering and this first story I've written that has a semi sad ending so tell me what you think okay? Well that's it later guys!
