Yes, this is actually the title. Sorry, I couldn't come up with something better.
Thanks for reading, these rights don't belong to me, yada yada yada.
Just wanted to get this out as soon as possible.
A short oneshot after ROTJ.
To Be Changed
By Cinquain
"Don't go yet,"
Han flashed his awardwinning smile at Leia, who only rolled her eyes but put down the coat in her hand.
"Han, I have a big meeting tomorrow."
"Just have one more drink," he purred like a lynx, and Leia pursed her lips in a grin. Nobody, and certainly not Leia Organa, could resist the voice. She sat down again and slid the empty wineglass back to him, who filled it with brilliantly crimson wine. She took a sip before setting it down delicately on the wood surface. She glanced up at the man almost shyly, and he reached out and took her hand from across the table.
"So, lovedove," he murmured, using a new nickname that Leia found particularly endearing. "How about a night over, hmm?" He raised an eyebrow and Leia laughed the giggle that only Han could draw out of her. The snow fell in flurries outside the window, and the fire burned in the old-fashioned fireplace.
"I told you, I've got things to do tomorrow," she reprimanded, but the effect wasn't very good because she had a large smile on her face.
"Aw, come on," he looked into her eyes and she returned the gesture with confidence and admiration and love and many, many other emotions in her gaze. Now that the Battle of Endor was over, and the vile Jabba the Hutt was dead, Han could now turn around and take Leia into his heart at last. They now teetered at the halfway mark between lovers and a married couple, true in their love but still a little unsure about their lives ahead of them. But, that was to be changed very soon.
"No, Han."
"Leia, you know what?"
"Hmm?" she said through another sip of wine.
"I'm sick of you having to come all the way over to my apartment, or me having to go to yours to see each other."
"It's only two blocks, Han."
"That's not what I meant," he said softly. His smile was suddenly dropped, showing a dead serious look. Leia's heart rate increased dramatically and she fought for breath.
"Leia Organa, will you marry me?" His hazel eyes watched her intently, his love so obvious in the gaze.
"Yes." she said quietly, and Han leaned over and kissed her. It was soft, gentle and short, but it had an indescribable sweetness that spread down her body to her toes. As soon as his lips left hers she wanted another.
Leia shivered in her seat, and her cheeks went slightly pink at the torrent of feelings tearing through her. She stood up and walked around the table to Han, sitting down on his lap and placing her lips on his. Her arms went around his neck and he held her securely. They kissed the same way as before, careful, just barely a touch, but longer, until they were both breathless. Even Han was shaken with excitement. When they finally broke apart Leia's eyes glimmered with mischievousness.
"Hey Captain," she whispered into his ear. "Where's the engagement ring?"
Just had to end it with a jab at Han. They aren't Han and Leia without some teasing/arguing/aggravation. LOL.
