Silent Spring
Once a verdant planet,
In long forgotten days.
Snow-capped mountains to raging seas,
Bathed in golden rays.
...
Species rose and species faded,
Balance was maintained.
Yet our kind did not hold back,
Pursued consumption un-refrained.
...
The wind blowed and water flowed,
Once nature was free.
But over time, what was sublime,
Fell to travesty.
...
Trees existed to be lumber,
Animals in zoos.
The steady rise of QGAs,
Denying right to choose.
...
Records exist of what we lost,
Of what's forever gone.
Roaring metal's all we hear,
Replacing nature's song.
...
The grass is always greener,
And at heavy price we've learned.
That some things when they are lost,
Can never be returned.
