Hermione looked over at Charlie and smirked when she saw him frowning at his dough that was now thoroughly mixed with chocolate chips. "Alright, Charlie, now that the dough is finished we are ready to continue. Now break apart some of the dough and roll it into a ball. Once you have the dough ball put it on the cookie sheet and keep doing that until you're out of dough. Just make sure that the space between each dough ball is evenly spaced by a couple of inches because the dough will expand as it bakes."
Charlie nodded and did as he was told. By the time he was finished he has two baking sheets full of little dough balls that somehow would form into a cookie as it baked. He still wasn't sure how that would happen but he was having fun learning. He was glad that he had asked Hermione to teach him and not only because he was finally learning to cook but because he was getting to spend some time with his girlfriend without anyone else around. He looked at Hermione with a raised eyebrow. "Now what, love?"
Hermione chuckled as she pointed at the oven they had in their state of the art kitchen. It was one of the things she insisted on when they had their house built because she loved to cook since she found it relaxing. "Now we put the trays in the oven and let them bake. Once the timer goes off we will pull the cookies out and let them cool off. Although we will each eat one cookie while the rest cool because I think that warm homemade chocolate chip cookies are the best."
Charlie smiled at that and put the four cookie sheets in the oven and closed it. He then pulled Hermione into his arms and kissed her deeply. "Thank you for the baking lesson, love."
Hermione grinned. "You are most welcome, love. Besides I enjoyed it too."
Charlie shook his head and then snogged Hermione once again. He loved the feeling of having her in his arms especially now as her waist and stomach were thickening with his child that she was carrying. "I love you, Hermione Jean Granger, will you marry me?"
Hermione's eyes flew open at that. She nodded even as tears filled her eyes. "I will marry you, Charlie. Wow I give you a baking lesson and get a proposal in return. There is no way that anything will ever top this."
Charlie threw his head back and laughed. He smiled down at Hermione and kissed her gently once more. Today was the perfect day and he didn't think anything would top how perfect the day was until he watched his daughter or son come into the world.
