Nico sat in front of the Hades cabin, just blankly staring forward. He did this usually, but today there was just something about him, something that made him look even more dead to the world. (Don't take that seriously!)
Percy happened to be looking around, and noticed this gaze. He walked over, and ruffled his hair. "What's on your mind, Nico?" Percy asked, sitting down next to him. Nico sighed. "My sister's coming here for a week."
Percy blinked. "Isn't Bianca-""No! My….uh, step sister." Nico said.
Percy didn't understand. At all. "I don't understand, your mom is gone. Your father would have a half-sibling. So, it's Persephone." Nico nodded. "You've got it. She doesn't have anywhere to stay, but Demeter's practically at Zeus's throat about it, I heard. So, she'll probably stay with the Demeter cabin."
Although Percy was going out with Annabeth, he was curious about Nico's step-sister. Persephone wasn't bad looking at all, so she had to be somewhat pretty. And someone needed to show her around.
"How old is your sister?" Percy asked, smiling.
"I think she's either 13 or 14. Sometimes I see her in the Underworld, but Persephone likes to keep her with Demeter. Really, it depends." He shrugged. "But her birthday's coming up, and there's a dispute about who she stays with. So they sent her in-between."
"What's so bad?" Percy asked, leaning over to Nico. "Well, she's got this effect on people. She's really pretty, and she always brings around those fruits." He shook and sat up. "I'm gonna, uh, wait for her."
Nico was off like that. He didn't bother shadow travel, just sprinted towards the gate.
