Eurus Holmes was tired.
But more than that, she was amused.
It had been quite the day, after all. Duping both of her brothers, getting to interact with her favourite one once again. Studying him – oh! How she had missed that.
What a treat.
Science was a treat. Stimulation was a treat. Day to day life, ordinary people, what was the point of it all? She could see why Jim had preferred death. It was so monotonous; slow and painful.
Her treats made it worth it.
Her brothers weren't as clever – no, not at all. But they tried, bless them. However, even she had to admit, they weren't ordinary. Seeing how they responded to different situations? Fascinating. It gave her mind something to mull over, new data to process.
Such a delicious treat.
But now, it was nearly done. Sherlock had done it. Finally done it. Solved it. Remembered.
From her spot on her old bedroom floor, she listened intently as his brain compiled the last bits of information. He'd be heading to her shortly, as she knew he would. The day had gone exactly as planned, and she was rather pleased.
Footsteps. Yes, now it was time to begin the final act of her show. Soon, she'd be returned to her quiet room, but that was okay. She didn't require any other stimulation anymore; her experiment was complete, and her final problem was solved. It had taken years, but it was finally done.
Now it was time to simply exist, unless something that could hold her attention might come along. But in truth, she doubted that.
No more treats.
She pulled her legs close and willed tears to her eyes. Her brothers thought they could act – ha! They should have seen her.
Oh wait – they had, and would. They just wouldn't notice.
She wept, and let her brother hold her. She let herself be taken back. She didn't let him see past the mask.
She even went quietly.
Eurus Holmes was tired.
But more than that, she was satisfied.
A/N: So I haven't uploaded in ages. However, I watched TFP tonight and I just... couldn't accept it. I liked Eurus, but she was so in control the entire episode - only to suddenly not be? Nuh uh. I don't buy it. I needed to get this out of my system. Feel free to discuss with me.
