Harry woke up that Saturday morning and expected everything to go as usual, and boy was he wrong. Harry woke up in a strangely good mood, After throwing on his robe, he headed downstairs to make himself some coffee, read the paper, and wait for his wonderful- yet slightly too hyper- children to wake up
But they never came down.
7 was usually the time Ginny would drag them out of bed if they were too tired to get up themselves. But as it was Ginny had to head out to the Burrow to finish plans for a benefit for the holly head harpies, and she didn't want peanut butter sticky fingers all over her plans. So Harry being the good father he thought he was, headed upstairs to get his kids ready for the day. The first door was Albus' room, opening the door; his youngest son wasn't in his red room. So Harry shut the door, maybe Albus went in James' room for the night, Harry's brain tried to reason with him. He walked down the Hall to James' room, opening the door neither one of his sons were in James' green room. Must have all want to Lily's room, she does have the biggest one, Harry's brain tried again- But he had already begin to panic. Almost running over to his baby girls' bed room, he pulled open the door to find not a single soul in the bright pink bedroom.
Now he started to panic. Running to his room he threw off the robe and dressed quickly, his kids were missing! Maybe even his wife! All he knew is that the four people that he lived for were gone, If Ginny had taken them with her she would have left a not- she knew he liked to panic. He rushed down the stairs, checking all the places Ginny might have left a note. Not the coffee machine, not inside the fridge, not on either one of the doors. His family was missing.
"Harry! Harry are you awake yet?" He sighed in relief as he rushed to the entrance, hugging his ginger wife tightly. "Whoa, Harry, Love are you alright?" he pulled away looking at the face of his concerned wife.
"You scared me half to death Ginny-"
"Oh, sorry about that- I just took the kids with me so you could get some rest" Ginny patted his cheeks as he saw his three angels outside in the summer heat. He rested his head on the door frame relived. He had his family back, they had never left him in the first place. He heard tiny little footsteps and turned around. Lily was standing with a little present in her hand, it was wrapped horribly, but yet it looked so adorable.
"Hey, Lily-Flower, who's the present for" He smiled at his princess who held out the gift to him.
"Daddy! It for you!" Harry looked down on the wrapping paper to see 'Daddy' Written in her 6 year old scrawl.
"Oh! Thank you Lily, but why'd you get daddy a present?" Lily just giggled and smiled.
"It you're birthday silly!" It hit Harry like a ton of bricks, birthday? No, that was tomorrow... yesterday. Holy god, it was his birthday. "Daddy open it!" Harry, weighed it in his hands- It was really heavy. He ripped open the brightly coloured paper to see on the inside was a whole lot of Flat rocks glued together, with one Lily on top of them all. There was a large gap with a picture Of Lily and himself one year ago. It was a homemade picture frame.
"Oh, Princess thank you! I love it!" Lily smiled so brightly, and looked so happy it made me want to cry. I hugged my baby girl tightly, holding my beautiful rock picture frame in my hands. Lily kissed my cheek happily.
"Happy birthday, Daddy"
Not my best, but I wanted to write something in honour of Harry's birthday! I might write another one- who knows?
