Bo smiled, the grin widened as Lauren looked up at her. "What?" The Doctor asked as she pulled away from the table. Bo shook her head.
"Nothing," she replied softly. Slowly she walked over and carefully picked up one of Lauren's hands. Keeping contact with her eyes, she opened the hand up and placed something in it before closing the slender fingers over it, making sure that Lauren was aware as she stroked her own finger's over Lauren's closed.
"What is it?" Lauren asked, unable to look with Bo still covering her hand, smiling at her distractingly.
"A gift."
The Doctor tilted her head and Bo watched amused, as her forehead crinkled with curiosity. "A gift?" She questioned. Bo nodded, bitting her lip softly.
"A token of my affection or something," She let the hand drop from her grasp and watched as Lauren opened her hand up. A simple silver necklace, a single charm on a plain chain. "I know you where your necklace because of...the Ash." Her jaw had tightened at the mention of Lauren's 'owner'. "But I wanted something to show that you also were yourself, I don't know. It's kind of stupid." She blushed as Lauren picked up the charm.
"Is that a-"
"Stethoscope, yeah. I ah, saw it and thought of you." Lauren blinked and rubbed under her nose with a sharp sniff. Worried Bo bit her lip, feeling her stomach drop, "You don't have to keep it or anything, it's just a gift and you can do whatever with it, like throw it out or um, give it away. Look, I didn't mean to offend you - I just saw it and-"
Lauren grabbed her around the waist and kissed pulled her to her lips. Shocked, Bo stood there confused. When Lauren parted her lips, she relaxed and wrapped her own arms around the woman. Eagerly, they tasted, before all too quickly, Lauren pulled away.
"Thank you."
Bo grinned at her, "If that's how you say thank you for a gift, I'll have to keep buying you more." Lauren laughed softly before she met Bo's eyes again. Frowning, Bo studied her, "You don't receive gifts often, do you?"
"Not really, I don't-"
"You will now. Christmas is coming up and I've got something planned for you, also you need to me your birthday 'cause I've got this whole surprise in my head," she teased. Lauren smiled, at the sight of it, Bo reached up and tucked a loose strand behind Lauren's ear, making sure to graze her thumb against the woman's cheekbone. "You truly are beautiful," she murmured. "And quite amazing."
