Quick Queenie
Quick Queenie was a girl who did everything as quick as she could. In the morning, she would get up very fast and rush to brush her teeth but would often forget to tidy her bed. Every morning, Queenie would spread jelly on the bread very fast and would eat it quickly.
Every time she went out, she would forget to lock her front door because she is always in a hurry. Whenever she had her examinations in her school, she would rush to finish her test paper in a record time. Sadly, she seldom gets good results for it.
She did not even bother to comb her hair every morning as she is always dashing out of her house. She did not bother to look at the mirror to check her clothes properly before leaving the house. She did not even know how to tie her shoelace properly.
Queenie has a helpful personality and tries to help others whenever she can. When she met the post man on the street, she offered to help him carry his letters. But before he could say no, Queenie grabbed the sack of letters and ran away with it. Sometimes, she may accidentally dropped the letters all over the floor.
The post man would be angry that he gave chase to Queenie. Of course she would ran away before being caught.
There was one occasion when she met Strong Stephen who was carrying a huge basket of eggs using one hand. She then offered to help him to carry some of the eggs.
Without further notice, Queenie would grabbed the basket of eggs and ran off. Alas, she may dropped some eggs and they cracked all over the floor and will mess up the pavement with the yellow yolk.
Before Stephen realised and gave chase, Queenie had already disappeared.
Another time, Queenie went to the zoo, she met the zoo keeper who offered her to help him feed the animals. Queenie grabbed a bucket of corn, threw it at the lions and ran off. If she bothered to look back, she would have seen that she had left the lions' cage door wide open. But she did not mind as she was running back to her home as fast as she could.
Of course, we all know that lions hate corn. But they loved it when the cage door is wide open!
One hot afternoon, Queenie found herself confronted with a group of angry people. They were the angry postman, furious Strong Stephen, a terrified zoo keeper and two hungry lions!
Queenie thought in her head, 'I must think of some way to escape as carefully as possible.'
