Misha followed Marie inside.

"You have a lovely home," he said.

"Thank you," she replied. "Would you like some tea?"

"Yes, thank you."

Marie poured Misha and herself a cup of tea. As they sat down in the kitchen, she looked at Misha. She couldn't believe that after all this time Paulie had flown back to her. Thanks to this man.

Misha looked at Marie, thinking to himself 'My god, she is like an angel. Paulie was right. I should not be afraid to speak.'

"Is anyone going to say anything?" Paulie said, breaking the silence. Misha just chuckled, shaking his head, while Marie blushed at her parrot's words.

"So Paulie, how did you find me?"

"Well-

"It's a long story," Paulie and Misha said together.

"Well start telling it."

2 hours later. . .

Paulie had gone over everything that happened since Marie's dad took off with him that morning so long ago. From the pawn shop to the university and meeting Misha to Misha setting him free and finding her. When the story was done, Marie couldn't believe her ears. Paulie, her best friend, had been through so much, yet he had made his way back to her. She could almost cry.

Paulie walked up to Marie from his place on the table, and Marie held out her hand. Paulie perched himself on her fingers as Marie held him to her face and stroked his feathers. Marie shed a few silent tears.

"Oh Marie don't cry," Paulie said noticing.

"I'm just . . . I just missed you so much." Marie said as she set Paulie down.

Paulie just looked at her. "I'm here forever, I'm your fairy godmother, remember?"

Marie let out a watery laugh. Misha got up from his seat and went over to Marie to wipe a few tears from her face. As he did Marie held his hand to her cheek. Misha, suddenly realizing he was being too forward to a woman he had just met, started to pull his hand away, but Marie held it there.

"My god, you are beautiful," Misha said.

"Thank you." Marie said smiling.

Did I just say that out loud? Misha thought.

"Are you two gonna kiss or what?"

"Paulie!" Marie and Misha said, looking at the bird.

Then they glanced back at each other and Misha softly kissed Marie's lips.

"You found her Misha," Paulie whispered. "And this time your words were not stolen."
