The day started beautifully for Uchiha Sasuke, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, not to mention he had someone very special beside him. People started at the duo strolling down the streets of Konoha. It was shocking to them that the Uchiha boy was not alone, he actually had a companion, and that accompanying person was a female. They never thought this day would come, one of Konoha's most isolated pariah finally found an acquaintance, someone to walk by his side. Of course, they couldn't help but let the tugging smile reach their faces.

Flashback:

The upcoming Jounin exam was nearing so neither were surprised when they spotted each other on the training grounds. No longer the girl who would get gitty whenever she was around a certain Sasuke-Kun, Sakura approached Sasuke and asked him if he would like to spar. Undoubtedly, being an Uchiha meant never turning down a fight, so Sasuke and his unusually large ego merely nodded.

"Sakura, you have to learn to read your opponents' movements," said Sasuke as they were well into their sparring session.

"Well I'm sorry, but if it's not obvious enough, I . Don't . Have . The . Sharingan." panted Sakura.

Just why couldn't he see that she was already doing her best. She would never be good enough for him would she. Letting her anger get the best of her, Sakura put all the strength left in her for a final punch. She aimed toward his face. Sasuke who foresaw this attack sighed and had his hand ready to block her punch. Sakura's fist was only mere inches away from Sasuke's face when she altered her aim and attacked his abdomen instead with amazing speed. Sasuke barely saw this unexpected change and blocked her just in the nick of time. However, he underestimated the amount of strength she put in her punch and took a small step backward when his own hand came into contact with his stomach. They stood still in that position for a moment, Sasuke had her fist in his own while Sakura's fury filled eyes glared right into her sparring partner's, before both took a step back and looked away.

"I'm sorry Sasuke, my anger got to me," Sakura sighed, not bother to add the Kun.

"hn".

After moments of eerie silence, "Sasuke, if you have time, would you mind helping me with my taijutsu tomorrow? As you can tell, it needs work" Sakura suggested with nothing on her mind but getting stronger.

It was so strange, Sasuke didn't know what came over him, but he gave her a nod of approval, before he walked away.

"Sasuke, why?"

She was responded by silence before she continued.

"Why did you agree. I mean, you never accepted the dates I offered you back when we were still young. So why agree now?"

Sasuke had wild thoughts going around in his head. Thoughts he never knew he could possibly posses.

Because Sakura, you never gave up on me.

You smile at me when no other would even give me a glance.

You look at me with those eyes, the eyes that seem to see right through my heart, my soul.

You are the first to see me for who I really am.

You make me feel things I have never felt before.

You always manage to heal my wounds, inside and out.

You cry for me.

You make me feel like I really exist.

You remained by my side when no one else dared to come near me.

You give me a reason to live.

Sakura's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Sakura, I…"

"Hmm?"

Without a second thought, Sasuke leaned down and placed a gentle kiss upon Sakura's lips.

After all, actions do speak louder than words.
