This shall be updated as I feel inspired to do so. Chapters will probably be short, unless I really feel like I have a lot to convey.
"I got stuck on a team with a bunch of losers. I mean, the boy is annoying and practically dead weight –I have no idea how he even passed the final exam- and the girl, well, I don't know much about her other than the fact that she spends all her time fawning over me like I'm some sort of, of-"
"God?"
"Yeah, sure, whatever. The point is, I've never actually seen her do anything useful, which means that I'm the only competent one on this team."
"I would be hesitant to judge them before I have a better grasp of their abilities, if I were you. People will surprise you, especially if you believe them completely inadequate."
"It's just so frustrating! I've worked so hard, only to get dragged down by losers!"
"I know where you are going with this, Sasuke, and my answer is no."
"But why? You know I'm not going to get very far training my sharingan by myself."
"You know that I do not want to risk the people of the Leaf Village realizing you have the sharingan just yet. It will only attract unnecessary attention to you, and that could be very dangerous."
"Could be?"
"Will be."
Sasuke sighed. He was well aware that no matter how much he wanted it, he wasn't going to learn anything until he had a willing teacher.
"Whatever," he concluded, turning his back.
There was a smirk on the others part. Sasuke could be so childish when he lost an argument.
"Come here."
Sasuke turned, a slight grin on his pale face. He knew what was coming. Two lean fingers appeared from the folds the other's cloak and jabbed him on the forehead, in the only display of physical affection that the other had ever shown him.
"I will see you again soon, dear little brother."
And then Sasuke was watching Itachi disappear into the dark green shadows of the forest.
