Riku could only watch from behind the Spirit Shield as Sephiroth attacked Sora. Sora moved at a slow pace, but kept up and out the way of the Masamune. Sweat beaded on his forhead, as then did he reach up a hand to brush it off. His breath came in shallow gasps as he went this way and that. Sephiroth seemed to be enjoying this, the torture of the keybearer. Only at one point did Sora falter, and when he did, Sephiroth took this chance and dove the Masamune into his flesh. His breath hitched in his throat as then did he look down, only to see blood flowing carelessly from a gaping wound.
Riku tried to get through the Spirit Shield but could not. It had been set up by Sephiroth's strongest minions. The three brothers of Cloud Strife. Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz.
Sora winced as the blood fell, his body weakening. Riku couldn't stand it much longer. Lashing out at the shield and at the last moment, he burst through, rushing in Sephiroth's direction. A smirk skittered across his flesh, as then did he reach out a hand, a beam of light flowing from his palm. The white light glowed brightly, that was, until it struck the One Winged Angel. Sora and Riku watched as the light tore his body apart, a scream resounding. Sora seemed to smile as then did his eyes mist over. Riku however, wasn't about to let the boy die. No. He hadn't deserved this. He was going to save him at all costs. And thus did then he did so.
Goofy and Donald watched for a moment as then did they rush forward as to see what happened. Sora lay curled up in Riku's arms, his head resting on his shoulder. A small sigh of relief was heard, as then Riku brushed the blood soaked bangs from the boy's face. The wound that once covered his lower abdomen was no longer existant. But instead in it's place was a large scar. Turning to Goofy and Donald, Riku gave a small nod and the four were returned to the palace.
