And So It Begins...
"Okay, what the fuck," Kash said as Mika left the room in a hush and hurry. "Dude thinks he's a fucking rock star now? I thought we had already said that we would get through this practice without interruption for once. I swear if it's fucking Natalie again, I'm going to destroy his phone."
"Dude, it's gotta be something important, no big deal." I defended gently. "I know she's a pain, but I'm pretty sure we made it clear to her that practice is vital right now."
"Christ.." Kash muttered beneath his breath, rubbing his light green eyes. "Alright, break time. Shit.."
About fifteen minutes later, Mika came back into the band room, his face whiter than usual and a strange half-grin stretching across his face. Inquiry and curiosity lay thick in the air as we waited for him to explain what was going on, as well as why he looked like he was going to cry, but... he just stood there.
"Mika, what's up?" I asked. No answer.
Kash and I glanced at each other as Loren, our drummer and Mika's twin, got up and put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Hey, man... what's up?"
The grin on Mika's face burst into hysterical laughter and exclamation, and after the initial terror relaxed and we all regained composure, all of us replied with a sharp and loud "what the fuck?"
"WE... WE... GUYS... I just got off the phone... with the owner of Skin Deep promotions..."
Silence blanketed us as we stood, wide eyed with anticipation. Skin Deep promotions was a top-notch company, known for their unbelievable tours and immense respect all over Arizona. Definitely not one someone would expect to be calling a local... for anything.
"I shit you NOT," Mika spoke, carefully and seemingly with warning, "Allston of Skin Deep... just fucking asked us to fill in a couple dates on the FUCKING VICE AND VIRTUE TOUR!"
Every body in the room froze. I felt the blood drain from my face and tears start to form as I looked around at the faces of my members, the guys that have become my brothers over the last few years. Kash with his tall, stocky build and light brown hair, flipped to the side and bandana holding it down, tattoos I've done covering almost every inch of his arms and legs. My twins, (we always joke that I was the triplet sister that was lost in the hospital) Loren and Mika, stood taller than Kash but as skinny as me. Mika's black hair hung just below his shoulders and over his face like mine, where Loren's wore naturally pin straight beneath his beanie, just enough to shroud his hazel eyes, and again, both covered in my art work. These men that I have spent the greater part of my young adulthood with, growing and maturing out of high school, into jobs and families, were all sharing the same tears of joy as we realized what was finally happing to us.
The bands that shaped us, that partied with us in spirit and pulled us through the bad times, Memphis May Fire, The End, Asking Alexandria, DRUGS, and the one and only, Motionless In White, were about to travel the United States and perform for 3 months, and our band, so named after the MIW album, CreatuRes, somehow was lucky enough to be enlisted on said tour. Our dream was actually starting to take flight... This could not be happening...
