"Harry! Harry!" Ron Weasley ran towards him. "How's your summer been? Horrible that you had to stay with the Dursleys."
"Yeah, but I can't wait to see everyone," Harry had noticed Ron had grown even taller than last year, he looked pretty good. He would be a major catch this year.
"Erm.. I've got to go help Ginny, she's been made prefect, and she has no idea what to do. I'll see you on the train," Ron said and ran off.
*I wonder if anyone else is here this early*, Harry thought. *Where's Hermione?* He had noticed sure enough, she was talking to Parvati and Lavender.
"Hi, Hermione!" Harry walked over and smiled. He was amazed at what he saw. She had gotten taller also, and her hair was no longer bushy, it was sleek and straightened. Her teeth were pure white, and he noticed she had lost some weight. Harry actually felt happy for the first time since Sirius died...
"Hey, Harry!" said Hermione. Parvati and Lavender walked away. "Did you get the letters I sent you? I probably thought the Dursleys would be keeping Hedwig from you."
"They did for a while, I got one of them. I think your last."
"I was going to invite you to my house for the month of August, but like Dumbledore said, you should stay with your Aunt Petunia."
*Hermione wanted to have me come to her house?* Harry's mind was racing. *She's never done that before...*
"Harry, I have something I want to tell you..." said Hermione. "Actually, I've wanted to tell you since fifth year."
"Yes?" Harry had a feeling of what was coming.
"I've... err... fancied you for the longest time, I just didn't want to tell you. I was afraid it would hurt the friendship," she looked scared.
"It couldn't ruin the friendship if I felt the same way," Harry said coyly.
Hermione was beaming. "You... do?" Harry nodded.
The Hogwarts Express was ready to leave King's Cross. Harry took Hermione's hand in his and walked into the awaiting train.
