You know some people say that a particular word makes them hear music? Well, I had the same issue with the word 'quest'. It made me hear funeral marches.

I sighed as I knocked on the door of the Big House.

Just 5 minutes before, Grover had called me during sword fighting, saying that Chiron wanted me for some reason.

"Why?" I asked, after I told the youngers to go on without me.

"I dunno, he didn't tell me," Grover shrugged. "Did you do something?"

"Um… Not... really..." I sweated madly, hoping that the Camps Director hadn't noticed the secret stash of candy under my bed.

"Then I have no idea," Grover again started to shrug, but then gasped as if he hit something. "Maybe a new quest…?"

"WHAT!?" I shouted. "NOOOOOOOoooooooo…" I fell to my knees, head in my hands

Grover crossed his arms over his chest. "Stop overreacting Percy. You're the one Chiron will call if he needs someone to take a quest, and you know it. You're just trying to make us jealous, right? A lot of demigods wish to go on a quest for years, and they never do. Be respectful!" "MAN, you know I hate quests! 1 quest is enough, let alone 6! I don't even know if I'll come back alive!" I waved my arms around like a mental patient, eyeing Grover unbelievably the whole time. " I thought you were my buddy…"

"PFFT, Percy, I'm just joking!" Grover suddenly laughed, his chuckling mixing with some impolite goat noises. "Anyway, we don't even know if I'm right or not. Get a grip on yourself!" He smacked my back. "I'll wait for you in front of your cabin. If you come back…"

I punched Grover's arm. "Don't be annoying."

"Yeah yeah, OK. Good luck man, you'll need it!"

So here I was, standing in front of the large oak door, wringing my hands nervously.

"Please let it be anything but a quest… Zeus… Hera… Athena… Dad... please… I'll do anything for this to not be a quest… I'll tell Chiron myself that I had the secret stash of candy if you will let it not be a quest… So please please please please please please please please please please please please please please….."

I was so into my own thoughts, that I didn't notice when Chiron (in wheelchair form) opened the door.

I jumped when our cheerful camps director greeted me. "Well well Percy, dear child! Yes come in, I've got a huge surprise for you…"

Chiron ushered me into the small but comfortable lounge, and made me sit down in an armchair.

"So… Percy, why do you think I've called you?"

"Um…" I stuttered, staring at my shoes while praying, "I don't know…"

Chiron smiled, "Why Percy, you should be an expert at this by now! I've asked you to go to a quest!"
