Disclaimer: Don't own GH or TBAA. I DO own Mr. and Mrs. Marist and Macy
"Okay," Andrew said, "we're here over the case of Donnelly Vs. Marist"
"Your honor the situation is very simple. This b- lady promised that she wouldn't return for her baby and Marcy would be our child. Now she wants to take our baby away from us. I'm supposed to be reasonable about this and I can't. I just can't"
"But she's my baby"
"Is she," Andrew said, "you gave her to the Donnelly family. Sean and Tiffany raised her. They saw her through fevers and teething and many other things. Why should I return her to you"
"Because I don't want to lose her"
"I'm sorry," Andrew said gently, "that's not a good enough reason. You see, Sean and Tiffany are her mother and father. She knows them as her parents. She knows them as the people who have raised her since birth and the people who love her"
"But she's only a baby!"
"Babies know more then adults sometimes. They know were their home is. They know who loves them and they know when they're not in the place they know as theirs."
"So that's you're final answer"
"Yes Mrs. Marist that's my final answer"
"But I-"
"Let me tell you a story. It's the story of a man who loves a woman. She is his world.
"But because she loved another and the other man loved her he never confessed his love. He loved her so much that her happiness meant more to him then his own happiness. Mrs. Marist do you love Marcy"
"O-of course I do"
"Mr. Marist?"
"What sort of question is that… do I love my daughter?"
"Then don't you two want what's best for her?"
"Yes"
"Even if it's not what you want"
"I suppose so"
"Case closed"
"Thank you judge," Tiffany said
"Oh Tiffany," Andrew said, "I knew your sister. That's the reason she did what she did when it came to Lucas. He lived with Bobbie for years and knew her as a mother so she felt it was best for him but she told me before she died to tell you she would have chosen you under any other circumstances…"
A slow grin played on Tiffany's face
"Thank you Andrew"
Andrew smiled back
"You're welcome"
