It's been a while huh?
Anyways, this drabble is set during S7 but it will be slightly AU... enjoy :)
I Will Always Find My Way To You
"Damon..." the fiery witch spoke. "... for the last time, I'm not going to the dance with you."
"You are, witchey, you just don't know it yet."
Bonnie looked at her supposed best friend's horribly flirty grin and frowned, crossing her arms. It had been over three months since Elena fell into coma and Damon was already setting his eyes on his next prey: her. The only woman to avoid him for years, successfully dodging all of the elder Salvatore's attempts to seduce her. Cocking her head to the side, she spoke.
"Why don't you go with Caroline?"
Ah, the blonde vampire and her other best friend. Everyone had expected her and Stefan to jump into the sack moments after Elena left them (hopefully not forever) but that wasn't the case. Stefan was still mourning the brunette (far more than she had seen Damon doing, which surprised her) and Caroline, despite her personality and the situation, didn't gobble him up. In fact, they remained friends and right now, Caroline was showing him pictures of them and Elena when they were little. Bonnie could still hear the younger Salvatore brother's laugh from his room upstairs at the Bennett's house and it made her glad that they both could be happy, somehow. But could she say the same for herself and Damon?
"Blondie is too busy with Stefan." the elder replied, shaking his head as he pouted. "Come on, Bon Bon, you know you want to go with me..."
The witch sighed and gave up. She wasn't in the mood to deal with Damon and, she hated to admit it, his pout was kinda cute. Too cute. Dangerously cute. Ignoring the warning bell in her head telling her that she was falling for his charms, she replied.
"Alright, but no funny business, got it?"
"You have my word."
Hours later, they were dancing at the annual ball held in Mystic Falls, Damon twirling her around as though she was a princess and, if she wanted to be honest with herself, Bonnie felt like one.
And strangely enough, she wouldn't change it for anything in the world.
