-"L-Link?" she asked insecurely.

It was late at night and Link and his companion Midna had just returned from Kumula, the City in the Sky.

They were very tired, especially Link and so they warped to his house in Ordon, where they would be safe.

Midna was very uneasy though. She knew their next destination was the twilight realm. She was afraid that Link would think differently about her when he saw her temple. She was afraid that Zant would harm him and she was afraid that when he saw the creatures there, he wouldn´t want to help her anymore.

Midna sighed and removed her fused shadow. Of course she couldn´t let him know about her doubts.

She floated in the air from one side to the other and back again, as if she would be pacing around.

She stopped and looked at the chosen hero. He was peacefully sleeping in his bed, laying on the side with one arm under his head.

She watched him for a while, not noticing that she was coming closer.

He was suddenly breathing irregularly, panting almost. His expression changed and he squeezed his eyes close, while mumbling something she couldn´t understand.

-"L-Link?" she asked insecurely.

He just clutched his blanket and groaned, probably from being injured in his dream.

The imp kneeled down next to his face and leaned down. Her eyes were full of sympathy. Slowly, she reached out for his head and hesitatingly stroke some hair out of his face.

He moaned and suddenly reached out with his free arm, grabbing her small form and pulling her down to his torso.

Midna gasped at his sudden action. She looked up to his face, but his eyes were still closed. His breathing slowed down and Midna felt the hero´s racing heartbeat slow down.

She felt her own heart calm down, too, when Link´s arm wandered up her spine and gently stroke her hair on the back of her head.

She clutched his tunic and after a while closed her eyes too.

-"Midna..." he mumbled and she wondered if he said it while sleeping or if he was awake.

Then she felt a kiss planted on her forehead and another whisper, which let her fall asleep.

-"Sleep well, my princess."
