Eternity: Prolouge

The final fight ended and Center City began to rebuild itself again, this time, though, it took a while to gather volunteers, for the way things were going, who's to say all the new buildings wouldn't just be torn down again by some new disaster? Heroman and I worked together with Mr. Hughes to ease these doubts, sadly, that meant being on the TV almost every day. I rarely had time to myself, let alone time to spend with Lina.

She never once blamed me for it though, always waiting with my sister at home, happy enough just to snuggle with me in bed. No, we didn't do anything else. For one, we couldn't, 'cause Holly slept on an air mattress by the foot of the bed. Secondly, well, a few days after the battle ended we kind of…kissed. Don't get me wrong, it was nice, it also wasn't…right. We both felt it. Holding hands, hugging, sleeping together, all of that was fine, but whenever we tried anything more, be it kissing or touching, it just felt…wrong.

So we left it at that. And it doesn't bother us. If anything it made us closer, able to practically tell what the others thinking with a mere glance, and able to lift each other's spirits with our presence alone. It's like we could never be separate, our hearts so connected that we were never apart.

Of course, Psy would crack jokes about it, teasing us whenever we walked into the Professor's new lab, hand in hand.

But the joking never could last long, for soon after Heroman and I would start our training. The Professor insisted that we keep training, just in case, he'd swear, just in case some other aliens tried to invade. Or, as Psy likes to put it "Incase those crazy people from overseas try anything funny."

So eventually I learned how to invoke Heroman's powers silently, in case I need to call him to my aid, but couldn't afford letting my 'enemies' know.

I learned how to activate my power's without having to summon the gauntlet, a dead giveaway, the Professor called it.

And the Professor eventually, somehow, upgraded Heroman, making it possible for him to move silently and also float a tad bit, so he wouldn't constantly be creating potholes in the ground whenever he ran.

I never understood why the Professor put so much emphases on stealth, that is, not until several years later when I realized…I wasn't aging.
