Summary: Sark muses about the one he cannot have
Her ShadowThere she sits, her bruises covered expertly with make-up. Amazing, truly amazing the skill she possesses. How many times have I marred that angelic face? How many others have done the same? How many times have I woken up with the signs of her touch scattered across my body? There are too many to count. Yet, she doesn't miss a beat, she goes out, does her job, and comes home to a world drastically different than the one she just exited and will return to the next day, and the next day after that and the day after that. What would I give to have just one moment with her? A moment where we are just two ordinary people, meeting each other, perhaps enjoying each other's company. Alas, that can never happen. She is off limits. Her job and her mother have seen to that. And yet here I sit, hiding amongst the shadows of her favorite restaurant, hiding my thoughts and emotions from her, enchanted by her mere presence. I sit here waiting, hoping some day she will see me for who I really am, and not for what I do. I wait for the day that we aren't Mr. Sark and Agent Bristow, but Julian and Sydney.
