Prologue

The sun was in the middle of sinking itself into the far away horizon as he came into a realization. All seems at ease as the star was right in between the orange-red sky and the deep, dark sea green ocean. His inner turmoil was shown on his usually carefully crafted, emotionless face. The epiphany that had just occurred sparked terrible dread inside his chest. What he didn't believe could happen a few months ago probably came true a few hours before his arrival at the secluded beach. The first wave to hit his feet arrived suddenly, soaking the bottom of his black shorts. The moment the water slid back to become whole once again was when, on instinct and panic, he started to run back to the bus stop where he, before filled with anger and misjudgment, left his lover. He was the one who ran to the beach feeling cross and irate, that is, after spilling some words that should have not been said. He was hurt by someone extremely important to him, but he had also caused him pain in return - pain that had probably struck his precious person's heart hard enough to leave him broken. His love was someone who, in situations like these, takes words to heart. He would truly believe anything someone precious to him say, even if a part of his mind screamed in denial. That was just how he was.

As he sprinted through the sand, trees, people, and buildings, he thanked his luck for putting on sneakers this morning. In times like these, he was glad for his hatred for sandals. What he could only hope for was that luck would stay on his side for a little bit longer. It's been hours since he'd last seen his lover's face, and right now, every fiber of him hoped that he had not left the bus stop. That could only mean one thing: his precious person had truly believed his words, carefully thought about it and the situation, and came up with a conclusion… And by taking the bus which would go back to the city, it would mean that he had left their relationship. And there was no way in hell he could let his lover leave.

After about twenty-eight minutes, he reached the street of where the bus stop stood. It was 7PM now, and the atmosphere was becoming chilly. He slowed down his pace a bit, attempting to normal his breathing. He quickly walked to the bus stop, which from behind was filled with so many graffiti no one could see through the transparent plastic. As he turned left to glance into the sitting area, his breath left him sharply.

There was but a note with a stone on top. He slowly walked to the bench, sat down and stretched his aching calves. He grabbed the smooth stone and noticed that it was from one the park's decorations, one of the many places they visited earlier today. The note lay on his lap, unread, yet in his heart, he had an idea of what would be written on there. Words of anger, words of pain, words of goodbyes. After sighing and closing his eyes to calm himself down, he opened the folded paper. There was only one sentence written in blue ink. It seems like one of his ideas was correct after all.

"Thank you for everything, Sasuke."
