White Horses (Prolouge)

For those of you who haven't taken riding (horseback stupid) there's no such thing as a white horse. Really they're grey, but they look white. Just to give you a better idea of the title. Anyway, this is my first long fic so be nice but PLEASE REVIEW! Oh yea, this is somewhat a cross between HP and the Enchanted Forest Chronicals, but not much so don't be put off if you want all Harry fics.

15 year old Harry, Ron and Hermione walked up to the edge of the Forbidden Forest. There was practically no one else outside as it was a gloomy and wet day.
"Come on Herm," pleaded Ron "All we need is a sprig of Blue Heather, and George says there's a patch of it not far in."
"No Ron, it's too dangerous, why do you think it's called the FORBIDDEN Forest?" replyed Hermione.
"Like you've ever been there!" Ron snapped back "Besides, you want to get Malfoy back as much as I do!"

Harry, who had been ignoring their bickering entierly to the moment, poked them in the back.
"Shut up for a sec," he hissed "There's something up there." Harry pointed to a small sillouite in the sky.
"It's Buckbeak and Sirius!" cried Ron happily.
"No, you idiot," whispered Hermione "He's at Remus's." Harry glared at both of them.
"It's too small to be a Hippogriph anyway, and its moving smoothly, not up and dowm." he said motioning to the object " It's gotta be a broomstick." The trio stared at it as it came down near the lake. Suddenly figure turned towards Harry.
"It's Professer Dumbledoor!" he cried.
"Your right." said Ron "And he see us. Anyone got a good excuse?"
"Ummmmm" they said, and waited for Dumbledoor to reach them.

Professer Dumbledoor walked up to them, cheerfully, but something was wrong. It was like a light had gone out in his eyes.
"Gooday Harry, Mr. Weasly, Ms. Granger." He said with a sort of a forced smile.
"What's wrong?" Harry said quickly.
Dumbledoor sighed, and said heavily "I really shoulden't tell you, but you have a right to know." he continued in a quiet voice "Voldemort has indeed returned. He attacked a home in a small village today."

"Who?" cried Ron, stricken, at the same time Harry blurted out anxiously
"Where?"

Hermione, who had been listening with a pained expression turned her head sharply. "I hear something!" she said, going white "In The Forest!" Dumbledoor whipped out his wand and turned to face The Forest. Harry looked at him, surprised. That wasn't like him, he usually was a lot more trusting of people. He shruged. This Voldemort buisness must be getting to him.

There was a crashing noise, and Harry jumped. A large white horse with a firey mane leapt out of the woods and came to a halt. No, that wasn't quite right. A girl riding a white horse leapt out of the woods and stopped so suddenly she flipped off the fornt of the horse. It was hard to tell weather she had done it one purpose or not. She stared at them with a look just as amazed as them just as theirs.

Harry studied her. She was tall and slim, but muscular. Her shiny auburn red hair was drawn back in a high ponytail but even then it nearly reached her ankles. She was wearing a brown animal skin tunic. On her feat were slipper like things made of the same material as her tunic. She had some arrows slung over her shoulder and a bow was in her hand. She had been riding bareback for there was no saddle on her horse, and the bridal was made of plain leather as well.

Harry jumped as he heard a gasp break the scilence. Hermione was staring awstruck at the animal.
"It's a unicorn!"
