A/N: Okay, I really shouldn't do this, but...
What would you do if you could just hop in another universe? That is what eighth graders Marissa, Eliza, Melinda, and Salina can do, thanks to a faulty science experiment.
So when Marissa wants to go to meet Sherlock Holmes, or just have fun in another time, Salina agrees in a flash. She just has to pass her free for all history report, and she can do Victorian fashion!
"Salina, hurry up!" I yell. Her attic is the start point,as no one goes up there besides us, and we have two old steamer trunks full of odd costumes stashed in there.
I pull my slightly below shoulder length curly dark hair back with a green ribbon. I change into white loose blouse with a flared green skirt perfect for running, and a boxy, slightly long green jacket. Perfect. Warm and comfy. Notice I didn't say cozy.
"I'm ready!" Salina is done up in a dark blue silk dress, with her blonde hair in an elegant bun. Uh-oh.
"Salina, are ALL you costumes like that?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Not all, just some!" Salina replied.
"Should I believe you?"
"YES!"
"All right, all right already!" I pull out the checklist.
"Travel log?"
"Check."
"A couple of changes of clothing?"
"Check,"
"Everything else?"
"Check."
"Let's go!" I drop three drops of titanium and magnesium and concentrate on the book in my hand. The world ripples and folds, then vanishes.
