Crescent Moon
Chapter 1
Thump. Thump. Thump. The heart beat sounded out, I could see the blood pumping through the creatures veins. Something moved in the corner of my eye, chocolate brown fur darted to the edge of the clearing just opposite from me.
The large wolf stared at me, his eyes were stern and focused but his tongue managed to loll out of his mouth playfully.
I grinned and rushed for the large buck that occupied the centre of the clearing. The wolf moved with me, its long limbs stretching out and tearing at the ground as it charged forward.
The buck was, needless to say, a little startled and ran out of there with the speed of a lightning bolt. I leapt up over it and landed right in front of it. The buck let its back legs drop and attempted to redirect itself in the opposite direction. I sprang for it and then managed to get it into a headlock before clamping my mouth down over its exposed neck.
There was a brief second of struggle and then nothing, just the blood flowing through the animal and into me. The taste wasn't what I would call delicious but it would do.
I wiped my mouth on the back of my hand and smiled at my companion.
He stared back, his eyes wide and playful, panting heavily and trying to lick his nose, I laughed and called him over "whose a good boy, Jake?" I teased in a mocking baby voice "whose a good boy, Jake? You are, yes, you are."
The wolf glared and planted his slobbering tongue on my face, dragging it upward through my hair. I stood there in shocked horror, keeping my eyes closed so as not to let the drool slid into them "yuck!" I screeched and buried my face in his fur, I only managing to wipe half of it off before he realised what I was doing and jumped away.
He began jumping back and forth with his head down over his front legs and his bum wagging in the air like a puppy he danced.
We walked to the edge of the clearing and into the trees, his paws padding lightly behind me. I was a little startled when a human hand grabbed mine and snapped me back just a little way into an embrace. The body was so warm and comforting, I wrapped my arms around him and snuggled my face into his chest. His copper skin contrasting brilliantly with my pale white. I smiled up at him and he bent down to kiss me. I stretched up onto my toes and pressed my lips to his, forcefully .
We parted and began to laugh and blush. Now that I finally had a chance to take a good look at him I realised he was completely naked "erm, Jake" I said shyly and pointed towards him with one hand and covered my eyes with the other "Oh right" he said laughing. There was a quick shuffling sound and before I knew it his hand was pulling mine away from my face. All he had put on were tight pair of black shorts.
We smiled, completely at ease with each other and headed back to the Cullen house. My home. Where one of my oldest friends was waiting for me.
