Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Something Fishy" from Season 7, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
Arthur is enjoying his work on the Island of Sodor, but is still learning his way around.
One morning, he saw the fishing village. The sun was making the water sparkle, and seagulls were singing all around Sodor.
This was Arthur's favorite place to be.
That evening, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds.
"There is going to be a new line to the fishing village. I have to decide which engine should run it."
He paused for a long time.
Thomas and Percy looked away, because they had more work to do than ever.
Arthur hoped he would be chosen.
Then, Sir Topham Hatt made his decision.
"Thomas, you will work on the new line."
"Yes sir." said Thomas, but he didn't like the smell of fish.
Arthur was very disappointed. He was sent to work at the coaling plant.
That evening, Thomas was at the wash-down when Arthur puffed in.
"Do I smell a fishy engine?" he teased.
"Yes!" huffed Thomas. "I hate smelly fish, and I hate my new smelly line!"
Arthur wished he could go to the fishing village instead of Thomas.
The next morning, Thomas was still grumpy. The fishermen had caught lots of fish.
"Hurry up!" said Thomas. "I'm a busy engine."
"And a fussy one too!" said one of the fishermen. "Just wait and enjoy the fresh smell of the fish!"
"Yuck!" said Thomas.
When the fish were loaded, he puffed away as fast as he could.
Thomas puffed along the line, but there soon was trouble. Some faulty points sent his freight cars one way, and Thomas along the old pier line.
"Oh no!" cried Thomas.
The driver applied the brakes, but it was too late! Thomas fell right into the pier!
The troublesome cars were delighted.
"He's fallen in the water, he's fallen in the water!" they chanted.
Luckily, no one was hurt, and the fish was safe on the tracks.
When Sir Topham Hatt heard the news, he checked his time-table.
"I'll send Arthur right away!" he boomed.
Because it was a hot day, the ice that kept the fish cool began to melt.
"I hope someone comes quickly!" moaned Thomas. "The fish will spoil soon!"
When Arthur arrived, he was surprised to see Thomas in the pier.
"Are you alright Thomas?" he asked.
"I'll be much better when you take these fish away!" replied Thomas.
"The brake-down van will be here soon!" said Arthur's driver.
Arthur knew he had to hurry, so he took the fish as fast as he could.
He arrived at the docks just in time!
Later, Arthur went to see Thomas at the fitters yard.
"Thank you for helping me." said Thomas.
"Thank you!" said Arthur. "I wish I had the fishing village line all the time!"
"Please tell Sir Topham Hatt about this. I hate fish!"
That night, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds.
"I need an engine to go to the fishing village while Thomas is being repaired."
"Me sir!" exclaimed Arthur. "Please sir, can I run that line? Thomas hates the smell of fish, but I love working with fish!"
"Then the line is yours!" said Sir Topham Hatt.
Arthur was delighted.
The next morning, Arthur puffed into the fishing village, right on time!
The smell of fish was everywhere, but Arthur didn't mind at all.
